a website I know of, takes gear ratio, stock tire size, and new tire size, and shows you the speed difference and what gearing you would need to make up for tire size.
What is that Website's URL link please?
-
With 215/75R15 stock tires, a 5.21 gear ratio would put you at "stock" gearing. So a 5.13 would be close.
How did you come up with 5.21 please?

Closest metric measurement is 315/70/15
I agree. However, I used the following site for the calculation. It is not a commercially available
wheel size but probably the exact metric size ..... "mathematically" speaking:
http://www.extremeterrain.com/wrangler-jeep-metric-tire-conversion-calculator.html

Are you going to stick with 33's after the SAS?
Yes. Will stick with the 33" as this is also my DD and I don't want to go higher than 33".

Oops. You are right. Sorry.I used the sample given below the formula on the URL and left the wheel diameter at 17 . Thx

Hummm ...
I am currently running 33x12.5r15 (which means in METRIC: 318x72R15)
So according to the formula below that calculates my overall tire diameter, I have a 35"?
(CROSS SECTION WIDTH x 0.ASPECT RATIO x 2 ÷ 25.4) + WHEEL DIAMETER = OVERALL TIRE DIAMETER
(318 x 0.72 x 2 / 25.4) + 17 = 35"
Does that mean I need 4.56 Gears to return to NORMAL OEM?

XE, so it came stock with 235/75's right?
A rear end ratio of 4.99 would return you to stock. so a little over 5 would be great!
If it came stock with 31's you'd be looking for a ratio near 4.65 to return it to "stock" gearing.
Well actually mine came with 215x75R15 (not even 235's )!!
The driver door TAG is below. Does that mean I need I need something higher than 5.13??

Hi Guys.
I am currently running 33x12.5R15" BFG tires on a 15x10 MT with the correct backspacing.
My truck is a V6 A/T with 3" BL + 3" SL from AC (4x4Parts.com)
I will be SASing the front of my truck in the near future. Still researching the best AXLE to use
considering that Dana44 from old Wagoneers are not common in my area.
My current differential Gears are still factory (HG43) which I believe stand for 4.365 Rear (H233B) and
Front (R200A).
Not sure about the Front and Rear Spline count but can safely assume they are 31 Rear and 29 Front.
Q: Which Ring and Pinion should I shoot for? 5.13?
Q: What is the difference and how can calculate the one needed to return to factory settings considering that I running 33" tires now.

Hi Pete,
What about the LENGTH of the Patrol Y60 axles (Front and Rear) that you used for this conversion?
Are they the same as the ones on the Pathfinder WD21 or will I need to shorten them?
I believe the H233B length on the pathfinder is about 59" in length.

Hi Guys. went through that post today and I had a question please since I am endeavoring
the following 3 projects:
1. SASing the front of my '92 WD21 (HG43)
2. Upgrading my rear H233B axle Drum Brakes to Disk Brakes
3. Installing new NISMO 5.13 Ring and Pinion in the front and rear.
I am currently running 33x12.5R15" BFG tires on a 15x10 MT with the correct backspacing.
My truck is an V6 A/T with 3" BL + 3" SL from AC (4x4Parts.com)
It is quite difficult for me to source D44 axles off a Jeep Wagoneer as none exist in the JY around my area. I figured I keep all Nissan and go for the following Axles from a Nissan Patrol Y60 (GQ/GR) instead for the above 3 upgrade projects:
Front: H233B, 32 (1.26”), 31 Spline
Rear : H233B with rear disc brakes, 33.3 (1.31”), 33 Spline
What do you think? Will that work?

Hi guys,
Recently took off my manual mirror and put on the nice-looking Power Mirrors instead.
I also acquired the in-cabin joystick/remote control for these Power Mirrors.
The problem is that my Pathy did not come pre-wired for this kind of setup and I am not sure how to connect
the mirrors harness (on each side) to the joystick/remote control?
I tried looking for these harness/cables in the local junkyard or online with no luck

Any help is appreciated

Hi Guys,
Just came across this on the WHITELINE website. It is for the rear end of a NISSAN PATROL.
Noticed the sentence above: "Front & Center Bushes available in both Standard & Offset for Caster Adjustment. A Must for raised suspension"
Does this apply to WD21?

Where did you order it from?

The calmini HD steering kit looks badass as hell. The dinky stock stuff isn't worth keeping.
upgrade bushings? Replace with OEM rubber if you wheel. that polyurethane stuff will just limit your flex.
Silverton,
Can I add you to the list?
Which kit do you need: NP12452 or NP12451?
Are you interested in NP12633 as well?
William

If any of you is worried about spare parts for this kit:
1. The custom idler Arm Bushings are available from www.bandit4x4.com. No need to worry about those.
2. The custom Calmini TREs and Adjusters are available on www.calmini.com as follows:
NPES409R $24.95
NPES4044L $29.95
NP12460 $64.95

Fair enough Silverton.
#2 or #20 are the same. If we do not fill the whole list, the opportunity is gone.
I'll go ahead and add you. Which kit you need: NP12452 or NP12451?

I've read of a couple cases where people did this and the balancer cracked because there wasn't enough meat left around the keyway. This cost them each a crankshaft when the balancer worked loose. I was going to offer re-machined new harmonic balancers to adapt VG30 accessories to VG33 cranks until I read about these problems and looked at how little material is left when you bore out a VG30 balancer. The adapter hub I'm producing replaces the harmonic balancer and accepts the VG30's six bolt steel crank pulleys. It's a fully CNC machined anodized aluminum unit for $75.
Mr.510,
Do you have a picture of this adapter Hub? and how it fits on the Crank Pulley?

This is the Calmini HD Steering system upgrade!!
Aren't you guys interested?

If interested, place you name in the list below and indicate which version you are interested in (NP12451 or NP12452) and whether you are also interested in the Rear Track Bracket as well or not (NP12633).
Note: NP12451 is for the pre 1991 WD21 steering boxes with the Small Tapper/Nut size < 41mm (I believe 30mm!).
NP12452 is for the 1991+ WD21 steering boxes with the Large Tapper/Nut size = 41mm

Dear All,
After several rounds of discussions with CALMINI (USA), I managed to cook the following GROUP BUY deal:
15% OFF the following parts for 20 (or more) confirmed orders of each:
NP12451/NP12452
CALMINI HEAVY DUTY REPLACEMENT STEERING SYSTEM $629.95 (reduced down to $535)
or
NP12633
REAR TRACK BRACKET $75.95 (reduced down to $64.5)
(This bracket is only suitable for WD21 equipped with a 3" Body Lift)
Note: The brass Idler Arm bushings can be replaced in the future if need be and are available at www.4x4bandit.com
To make use of this once in a lifetime Calmini GROUP BUY, simply fill your name in the list below and indicate which part you are interested in. We will need 20 confirmed orders of each to get the 15% discount on both (i.e, 20 confirmed orders of NP12451 will get us the 15% off on the NP12451 only not the NP12633 which needs its own 20 list of 20 confirmed orders).
Once the list is complete, each buyer will need to get in touch with David Kampa at CALMNINI USA and provide him with his/her credit card and shipping details. David will only "Authorize" your cards for the discounted price and wait until all 20 confirmed buyers have done the same before fully charging your cards, sending you the invoices along with the shipment tracking details:

T: 661.398.9500
F: 661.398.9555
As I said, this is a once in-a-lifetime kind-of-a-deal. This steering kit doesn't get discounted at all and the best time to get them would be now!
If you are in doubt, please read the following Project Pathfinder (Part 12) article that explains the advantages of this Kit as opposed to other after-market steering enhancements: http://www.motoiq.co...cleid/1299.aspx
Good Luck to us all

The Pitman Arm is the one in Green in the attached picture.
Is the 41mm Nut the one highlighted in RED at the bottom of the Steering Gear?
William
Any feedback please?
-
I have a 1991 and it uses the newer larger taper. You can actually check what size nut is at the bottom of the steering box holding the pitman arm on. If it's a 41mm nut, you have the larger (newer) taper. If not then you have the older one. I guarantee you that you have the newer taper (newer years).

Yeah they seem to think that their products are superior to everyone else's and you should just spend the money on them because.
I like your thinking and appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm just not sold on the Calmini set-up anymore. Even if they could offer it for $500 I think I would pass on it. Just a preference based off of what I've read on various forums. All the power to you though if you can organize this, maybe there's some other people on here that are interested.
If you don't mind me asking, Why do you need a new Pitman Arm anyway?
I'll get in touch with them and offer them this GROUP BUY and hopefully they agree. Will keep
you all posted.
I don't need a new PITMAN ARM, I need to upgrade my weak Steering system and the 2 ways to do that
are either:
- Calmini HD Steering Package (which includes a Pitman Arm)
- Hoohaa's Center Link
I personally don't believe in Hoohaa's CL upgrade and prefer the Calmini HD SP.

Screw calmini !! The xterra my buddy just bought has that heavy duty Calmini steering system, it needs new idler arm bushings so I emailed Calmini and they won't even sell the bushings separate, I read on other forums they used to send the bushings out for free not anymore I guess, now they want you to buy the whole idler arm for only $350 !! I don't own any Calmini stuff and after that response don't think I ever will.
No need to approach CALMINI directly for the Idler Arm Bushing. Go to the following
link: Bandit4x4
and order part# BDT-0003 (which is made exclusively for the Calmini Heavy Duty Steering System) for $55 and
your buddy will be a happy wheeler again

My New Doug Thorley Headers (Clamp Size)
in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Posted
Hi. Well .... my Doug Thorley headers recently arrived (Thanks to Steevo).
Everything looks Ok and ready for the install.
However, I was puzzled by a small "round cylinder-shape" part that came in the same bag
along with the Bolts and Nuts.
Does anyone know what is it for?
