  1. A little more info I found... Very unfortunate...
  2. Wait a minute.... Scratch that idea (perhaps...) Are these the same parts?! For this cheap?! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-00-01-02-03-04-NISSAN-PATHFINDER-FRONT-BUMPER-COVER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aNissanQ7cModelQ3aPathfinderQQhashZitem20b9800201QQitemZ140551127553QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSAN-PATHFINDER-99-04-FRONT-BUMPER-COVER-00-01-02-03-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aNissanQ7cModelQ3aPathfinderQQhashZitem35ae4d6137QQitemZ230557573431QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  3. The pathy's been in a few minor accidents here and there and luckily the front bumper cover has taken the brute of the damage. Unfortunately, I think it's time has come, and it is time for a replacement. Ideally, I would love to get a custom front bumper, but thats not in the budget at the moment. However, I figured a lot of guys on here have gotten their offroad bumpers on already, and are perhaps left with a bumper cover left over. In short, i'm here to take it off your hands! And I know I can purchase a new one, but I thought I might try and save some dough, while helping out a fellow pathy owner. Of course not for free though! And just so we're clear it's part number 62650S in the picture below for a 1999.5-2004 R50: Thanks for taking the time to check out this post! I hope i'm not coming off as rude/cheap/disrespectful! EDIT: If this needs to be moved to the Parts Wanted section - my apologies! Figured it'd get more traffic here!
  4. Damn... that sounds like it'd be totaled (sp?). Not to sound cliche, but the most important thing is that you're ok!
  5. You really have four options: 1. 2" Automotive Customizers (AC - 4x4parts) Suspension Lift. 2. 0.5" - 1.75" Old Man Emu (OME) Suspension Lift. 3. 4" Sub Frame Drop (SFD) Kit 4. Custom. The R50 utilizes a unibody (frame on body) construction making a body lift much more difficult. The SFD is going to require much more $$ and effort, but will achieve the greater lift height body lifts provide. The SFD can also be paired with different coil springs to achieve up to 6" of lift. As far as a basic suspension lift goes, your best bets are the AC or OME lift which can also be paired with 1" spacers to acheive up to 3" of lift in the front.
  6. Reverse of removal. If the axle is dropped low enough just slide 'em in. If not, compress them, slide 'em in and remove compressors.
  7. You'll need to get the rear axle up pretty high in order to drop one side low enough for the spring to just pop out. If you cant get it high enough, you could always drop it as far as you can and then compress them a bit. For the front, there are probably gonna be a few stubborn bolts, use a jack under the control arm to relieve some tension and hopefully make them easier. The AC springs are a pain to compress (with manual compressors) enough to fit on the strut. If I ever do it again, i'd have a shop put the springs on with their compressor. Make sure you note the alignment of the strut mount and other hardware for proper re-installation. Good luck! Take your time and be patient!
  8. I'm not sure what fail safe mode would feel like, but if I had to guess - it feels likes this! And yes.... chances are the CEL is out.
  9. Forgive my ignorance, but how would I know? The tachometer appears to be acting normally. I believe I remember seeing it get stuck at one point... EDIT: Well now that I think about it, the tachometer does look to be pushing a little harder then it needs to be. ...and thanks! I've actually been lurking for quite some time, even tried to join a while back but never got my email! But here I am!
  10. The Path is struggling to make it anywhere right now. It starts and drives but just barely. It's hard to describe but i'll do my best. The car starts up normally and for a brief period of time (1-3 minutes) seems to drive normally. However, after a short while, it hesitates and can only reach a certain speed. For example, I could floor it and maybe get to 45-55. It basically stops itself - I can let off the gas and the car will basically brake (the engine continues running but the car comes to a stop). It's as if the car is being a stubborn child who doesn't wanna do something but i'm the parent whos making it (best analogy I could come up with). I've done a little research and came up with the following: CEL light is not on, but I decided to check for codes anyway; came up with two: P0325 P0325(pd) Knock Sensor Malfunction From what i've read this can be caused either by a short in the circuit or a faulty sensor. From what I understood, there is a testing procedure in the FSM, but unless I can actually gain access to the sensor, I can't test either and of course the sensor is burried under the intake manifolds. Removing the manifolds is outside my realm of comfort for the time I could go without my daily driver and have decided not to tackle this and to take it to a mechanic. I'm not a fan of this decision because of unfavorable experiences in the past but really have no other option. But I have a few questions first to make sure I don't get screwed over (too badly). 1. I read that the knock sensor malfunction is fairly common and for most is hardly noticable. In fact most people just clear it - this is definately not my case. Perhaps there is a deeper cause and the knock sensor is just a side affect? If so, do the symptoms above ring a bell to anyone? Or could it be possible that the knock sensor has gotten so bad that the engine has gone into some sort of "safe mode"? 2. I've done a bit of research on parts and labor, but i'd like to hear others input as well - what kind of damage am I looking at here? Thanks in advance!
