  1. OK, I never thought of that.. getting the manual hubs and just leaving them on all winter. They won't be a problem with the all mode 4x4 when its in auto? How much MPG increase do you get with the manuals unlocked? If they pay for themselves I will seriously consider it. Good to know I will be fine for a while with the autos anyway, and the grease and boots is definately a good idea.
  2. I am soon getting OME coils for a modest lift. Question is, how long will my CV joints last if I keep the auto hubs? Manual hubs are NOT an option for me. My wife drives it in the winter in 4x4 auto, and I just hate manual hubs. I don't mind changing the joints a little more often, as long as its not every month or anything
  3. Ya, rocky road's website info for the OME coils is incorect, it will only confuse you
  4. Ya, get the KYB's and new mounts. You should get new springs while you are at it too. Old man Emu's wi;ll give you a small lift and a firmer ride. I am in the process of getting my parts for a suspension overhaul. Question about the mounts: Are Moog mounts and bearings alright? I bought them from Rock Auto under the impression that they are a premium part.. they were the most expensive ones they had. Will I have problems with these? Anybody tried them?
  5. yeah they should, but the 921's are only .5 so thats pretty close. Although i'm guessing the rears give 1" since they are medium.
  6. Well I decided to email ARB USA and ask about the deal on these OME springs. Here is what I got: Andrew- Our R50 Pathfinder springs all have the same spring rate of 200 lbs/in while the OE springs are 150 lbs/in. As our application page shows, each spring is designed around a vehicle with a certain amount of extra weight. As you step from light load, to medium, and heavy there is a 10mm height change in the coil itself. The extra height of the spring counteracts the additional weight so the end result is .50” of lift when the weight is matched to the appropriate coil. If you are only planning on running skid plates, I would suggest the Light Load springs (2921) in the front and the Medium Load (2922) for the rear. Hope this helps! Matt Glass ARB USA Tech and Marketing Assistant So it seems that you really DO get more height with the "heavier" springs and they are all the same stiffness! 10mm is about 1/2 inch so light springs are .5 lift, med are 1", and heavy are 1.5" lift. And the rear springs are only available as med at 1" lift. And remember don't get confused about the Rocky road website, their listings of what is medium and what is heavy is incorrect. They only sell light and medium but they call them medium and heavy. I am going to email ARB in austrailia to make sure what this guy says is correct. Too confusing!
  7. Oh, and another discrepancy. They are made in three part numbers: 921- light, 923- medium, 928- heavy Rocky road only sells two- the 921 and the 923. They list the 921 as medium and the 923 as heavy, which is incorect FYI
  8. There is a discrepancy on those OME coils.. they only make them in one height but nobody really knows what the true height is.. ARB (the manufacturer) lists them as a .5" lift, as also do some dealers. Rocky road outfitters advertises them as a 1.75" lift. Who has bought OME's and how much real lift did they give you?
  9. SO far I've had it on some trails once on our trip up to Wawa.. nothing too rough. Took it down onto a dried up river bed too. I do off roading the odd time, usually on fishing or hunting trips.

Some day i'd like to get skid plates and a lift. Seems its a little hard to get plates in Canada.

How do you like the OME's, whats the ride like on the streets?

  10. Thanks.. I don't think I will try it unless I get some more info that it can work. Steelies are 70 bucks at crappy tire, is this my best (cheapest) option? Another question, where can I get black panther skid plates? thanks for the info Pezzy!
  11. Hi all, just got my pathy a month ago and signed up here. I have a question about getting some rims.. I want to find a cheap winter set, used. Will the 15x6.5 stock rims used on the 96-2000 pathy fit my 04 LE? If so can I put a tire on them that is close to the same size as my stock 24570R17?
