  1. Pics are necessary. Everybody falls for them.
  2. They can be welded to the chassis.... many do that to keep them really there, I know at least 2 that had to be cutted off because they were welded and rust behind it. But yeah, check under the carpet to be sure and doesn't take much time.
  3. Removing the running boards could be a good idea because they can be hiding more rust or like that "white stuff", in most cases do.
  4. Well it's the first time I hear about a dual battery on a Diesel car... except when you have winch, more lights, air compressor, etc. then you need the second to wire all that like Kiwipete did, check it out you really will like to see what he than with it -> http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=22195&st=120
  5. You don't need the second battery, that is for something else my guess is something that it had or the unfinished job of the previous owner. As for the smoke, we have many diesel cars and one way to tell that the owner doesn't do the needed maintenance on his car is from the black smoke. It's a Diesel thing.
  6. Nice pics, looks like a mirror in some point... but the dual battery? what is the second for, do you know yet? As for the engine, you don't have a timing belt, you are correct it's a chain that doesn't need to be changed. As for the 100.000 kms maintenance it's a normal one. But there is some issues to be solved so you have a fare share of maintenance to do, good luck. Sorry I can't help much, but I don't really know mechanics, all I can say is that mine has 220.000kms (not much) own it since 150.000kms (10 years ago) and the only thing I changed, on the engine bay, was the clutch pump that was still the stock one. If I were you, and this is just an opinion, I would hold any project of body lift and tires just yet, first get all those small issues done, speacially the oil leaks.
  7. Another Diesel, nice. Post some pics as soon as you close the deal and wish you all the best. Diesel's are much simple than gas as far as I can see here and you are lucky with all the spares you have for the body...
  8. - Getting the complete AC in place, figuring out what goes where, first.
  9. Now I get it thanks for the help. I removed the glove box only to search for it, in this case I might have to pull the dash out... but I don't believe that the previous owner would cut it off and now I know exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you, thank you and thank you.
  10. Take some photos of the interior, ou and engine bay, I'm curious to see a Diesel with automatic transmition, although I don't like automatics (sorry to say). To remove the adhesive, after the sticker, you can also try a pencil rubber and rubb it off like if it was on papper and doesn't damage the paint at all, it's a great technic.
  11. Thanks man it really helps, pics are always better. Hope I can find it or going to a JY for a Terrano or Pathfinder will be really difficult to find and with AC... By the way when you got the pigtail can you tell where it goes? is it for the ac switch?
  12. I have a Nissan Terrano I 2.7TD, 5 speed - manual transmition... the trans cooler is for automatics, is yours auto? Never seen one... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=26945 <- meet mine
  13. Try another Nissan dealer, if you can because they can access through any VIN the parts you need. Look try a forum member "Alkorahil" I bought him stuff and he sent to Portugal, I think he can help you out. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18653&st=240
  14. Yeap, it shows but doesn't say anything about it nor connected like in the Auto section does. That's why I was in doubt and confused. And I can't find the freacking plug under the dash was hoping it was only for Auto.
  15. This is mine: 1959 Simca Aronde P60 Elysée Had all body done, rust free and new paint. Still missing the side trims, the blings. Now for a fews mechanical things... everything in a very slow motion.
  16. You guys are lucky, wish I had a garage and with one in it...
  17. I've been searching for the wires to mount a manual AC, I don't have it stock. Bought all the parts and now, before I get it on, I'm making sure of the places. So pulled the glove box out but can't find the plug for the Thermal Contral Amp... This makes us 2 around the AC....
  18. That's the one and I can't find it... on my Service Manual only shows it for the automatic... Is there a chance that I don't have the plug and have to wire it myself? if so I'm screwd. Oh, forgot to say that on the Auto Air Conditioner section says, quote: "Thermo Control Amp.: The thermo control amplifier is installed on the top of the cooling unit. It detects the temperature of the evaporator using a thermistor and turns the compressor on or off" Do you also have this on your manual? Just can't understand if this makes sense for the manual.
