  1. Alrighty, so I finally gathered up the guts to do a compression test on the pathy after the new wires didn't help it. Looks like I've got bent valves on cylinder 2 & 6 as they're both reading '0'psi :/

So hopefully this weekend I'll get to tearing apart the head and sending it to a machine shop.

Also figured out why she's been handling like a shopping cart on crack - super worn out centre link XD

I've been keeping track of everything I've needed to do since I bought it in March

  2. RG Fury

been tearing up BC2 for the most part lately xD

Fallout 3 will always be a love of mine too though :)

  3. man, where does everybody find these pretty rust free Pathfinders? Withe fender flares!! I want fender flares :(

haha think I'm going to have to come down to the states this summer and find a shiny 'new' rig

  4. It looks really nice and... pretty... Kinda looks like they turned it into another grocery getter though.

Any option for a manual trans? If it had a stick I'd use it for grocery runs =)

But if I wanted to go play in the mud and not get stuck, think I'd still grab the keys to a trusty (well.. errr.. trusty-ish) WD21 over the new Patrol...

    imo anyway

  5. Right one :)

Now I've got a question of my own...

My factory ground wires and points are starting to get preeeeetty corroded. Mostly from rust :/

Has anyone dabbled with after market ground wire kits?

I was considering this one for under $40 ...

    http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Ground-Wire-Kit/Ignition-Electronics/Performance/part_c-78_p-2286.htm?st=23

that way I could ground to a bunch of places that... aren't rusted.

    any thoughts?

  6. how do u guys change the oil filter?? its in such a ridiculous spot. i just had to stick my hand in there and blindly find the threading to screw it back on. i tried checking it out from under the car but it was even worse i couldnt see it at all. well yeah i was just wondering, any helpful tips would be rad

well, since mine has a 3" body lift and that pesky cover is no longer there,

I sit in a chair about 10 feet away and see how many extensions it takes with my nifty Mac socket on the end to reach the filter to screw it off, without leaving my chair =)

(well not actually, but I'm thinkin I'm going to try it this weekend >_>)

  7. I ran royal purple 10w30 in my old supra for less than 1000 miles. made a trip to spokane and back, so about 500 miles. As I was making it over snoqualmie pass, I noticed my oil pressure gauge was reading low. so I pull off to the side, check my dipstick, and the fluid is there, but it is literally running off the stick like water, so I baby it to issaquah to the fred meyer to buy some motor oil, I pull the drain plug and it comes GUSHING out and had no consistency to it. So, I refuse to use their motor oil ever again, I have read similar stories online. But I hear good stuff about their other fluids. Especially their water wetter.

weird, what year was your supra?

    I miss my '84 xD

  8. hey welcome to NPORA, looks like you'll be right at home here. :) Where abouts in BC are you from??

I am VERY jealous of your lack of rust >_>

As for engine swap options, upgrading to a VG33E block out of the '96-2000 pathy's would be easiest, although I have seen a couple pathy's with chevy 350's (I forget where the links are to them... I JUST SAW THEM YESTERDAY XD). I'm more partial to the chevy blocks myself when it comes to V8 power (cram a 572 in there! :D ) I do remember seeing some kits to swap in chevy 4.3L V6s on the Automotive Customizers site.

My buddy with a '96 Chevy 1500 short box is putting out 500hp with his V6 :)

  9. mine was custom fabbed by a previous owner. all welded steel tube and plate. If you'd like an off-the-shelf after market bumper, there's quite a few ARB bumpers floating around. Precise1 has one on his truck. I'd rather an ARB bumper, you can mount a winch on those ones but can't on mine :(

  10. i use Lucas 75w90 because it has the lsd additive in it. i think the Lucas lsd additive is better then most of the other lsd additives out there.

though I've never tried their gear oil or lsd additives, Lucas seems to have done a pretty solid job with all their other products.

Lucas 75w90 would definitely be a safe bet :)

  11. hello Wookier, welcome :)

Precise is right, practice practice practice is a great way to learn. If there is anybody around where you are that does any off roading, I'd recommend going out on some trips with them as much as you can too.

We will all do what we can to help you out and answer any questions you might have from here

Well I thought I would update you guys, I tried out the distributor thing and it doesn't spin when I crank the motor so the timing belt snapped.. WTF! It was changed last year, oh well, I have a guy dropping by tomorrow to see if he will take the whole thing as is to make some cash off of this.

Thanks for all the help though guys!

hey, THATS ME!! I'm that guy! lol

I know this thread is ancient, I thought it was just really cool coming across it :P

SO here's what happen: The water pump started leaking and coolant got all over the t-belt and she snapped.

As far as I can tell I've remedied the whole situation :)
