  1. I started having trouble with my 95, I've been having issues with power loss throughout the speed and rpm range. it had sounded like it wasn't getting enough gas, so I replaced the fuel filter. very basic swap, two clamps - one on each end, and making sure the arrow on the filter was in the right direction. still ran like crap, so I continued. got all the parts - cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. 1st problem- the screw heads on my dis cap are so rusted, the head stripped out on two of the screws. moving on... 2nd problem- while removing the wires off the plugs off the side of the valve cover, two wires broke in the boot, leaving too much on the end of the spark plugs to get a deep well socket on them. ok...on to the less accessable plugs 3rd problem- while two of the wires came off easily, the plugs are apparently so old, that I can't even get them off, and I think one started to round the corners. and 4th- how the hell do you swap out (or even get to) the last plug(#6) up against the firewall? I have thin arms, and I could barely reach back there just to get my hand on the wire. thanks for any help Eric
  2. When I replaced the front rotors, I changed the bearings and seals as well. the big problem I ran into was, the new inner bearing I bought from Carquest didn't fit. I checked all the numbers on the new bearing, and compared them with the old, but they matched. after spending about $80 at a Nissan dealer for the same bearing (to make sure I had the right one), I found out from reading other posts, that Carquest isn't the only company to have the wrong size. I think Autozone and Napa were on that list as well.
  3. that's exactly where mine is rotted. I took it over to a friend's just after I bought it, and he mentioned two things: rust on frame above the rear wheels (I have a couple of fist sized holes), and issues replacing the starter. I might be able to have one of the guys I work with weld plates onto the frame (I work in a machine shop at a plastics plant, but I only machine the plastics), but it'll probably be mid to late winter before I can afford to have it done. I just overhauled the front brakes, and am dealing with the engine losing power no matter what speed I'm at. I just got a fuel filter and will be doing a full tune-up this weekend. hopefully, that'll take care of that problem. all in all, still a good truck for $700.
  4. noob here. as much as I would love to take my 95 SE off road, it has so much rust from winters in Buffalo, the frame would snap, and I'd be left with dragging the back end home.
