One thing to consider is the impact when off camber. If you wheel in tight spots the added roof rack may impede your progress.

The other challenge is finding a tire you want that will fit. I just put on Toyo Open Country AT 265/65R17 on my truck. Nice tire by the way. I don't wheel my truck though, it pulls my trailer girl.

If you burn your own cd's, don't put self adhesive labels on them. These like to peel up and get stuck. Leaves quite the mess when the glue residual gets onto the mechanism.

I have done my searches and gone through the threads and don't think this was answered. From what I can see, it appears a 30.5" diameter tire is the max you can go without lifting or cutting. I have 17" rims, and was wondering if a narrower tire such as BFG AT LT245/75R17/E will still fit inside the front wheel well without hitting the strut and giving me close to full wheel lock? Or am I dreaming? Thanks QX

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I will pass on those tires as I have a trailer queen, so do not need to heavily mod my Q. And Simon, there would be a beneft though in having a taller truck than Carrie. Deeper mud! :tonguefinger:

I did a search and did not see anything specific to this. I have a 2002 QX4 with 17" rims. I have a chance to buy at a good discounted price some 285/70R17 BFG AT KO tires. They are 8% over the range recommended. Will they fit under the fenders and will I get to steering lock on the fronts without rubbing? Thanks Len

Thought I'd throw this out and see if anyone is interested. I have a 2002 QX4 Platinum edition which came with the 17" chrome rims and chrome roof rails. I would prefer 16" rims myself and therefore looking to see if anyone wants to swap. The current tires on the rims are Nokian M&S 265/60R17, about 50% through on them. Looking for Pathy rims and pathy rails to swap. Should be a direct swap. Condition of rubber not too important other I need to be able to drive them until I pick up some new tires. PM or email me if interested and I will send pics and details. The rims and rails are in very good condition with no visible marks or chips on them. Here is a link to what they look like: http://www.wheelsrims.net/infiniti-qx4-inventory.html part# ALY73675U85 Here's your chance to add some no cost bling. Update: My rims are a 6 bolt pattern.

Can't say I like the look of the head. And I would truely miss sucking the juice and meat out of the legs.

I have had this happen a few times this week, and ONLY at start up. The brake pedal is pretty solid, it will move about 1/8" inch and that is it and with little to no braking power. After kicking down on it a few times, I get pressure and the brakes then work. The pads are well over 60%. The brakes were all anti0seized recently. The only thing that was not done was the fluid replaced. Any suggestions? Vapour lock? Water somewhere in the line? Thanks

Boring as well, but you missed the Printing Press which is considered to actually be the greatest invention (History Channel or someone else did this) It spawned democracy in way, did it not? -thnkboutit-

Got it.

Quite the combo going there eh? What kind of perfume was it? The Carrie I know usually wears eau de 80w90 masked with a thin layer of mud!

Took it into JohnneyO and it ended up beging a timing sensor. All good now.

Took it in last week to the dealer I bought it from as the check engne light was on the day I picked it up, and the belts started squealing. Got it back and 2 days later, light comes back on, squealing starts again, but now it takes about 15 cranks and the skinny pedal to get started. No idiot lights out of sync, other than check engine, and the squealing seems to be more pronounced on turning. But that won't explain the lack of fuel at start up. Taking her in to JohhnyO tomorrow, but lookng for any advice as to what it could be. She's got 90k on her, and run very well once she is running.

I still have a Pionner deck which I bought for another vehicle. I will probably just swap out the full head, put in the Pioneer deck which I know the HK will work with it. That means I will have a Pionner ipod rev1 adapter for sale. Pioneer's ipod integration sucks. Thanks

I've never knowingly used an FM transmitter. Have not been happy with any of them I have heard. Definitely direct line in with the HK D&P. Thanks

Great, thanks. I'll post with pics when it is done.

I did a search and nothing specific came up. I just removed my Harmon Kardon drive and play which I look at as the poor man's Clarion touch screen version. Before I pull the deck, I get from some of the searches that there is a CD Changer input on the Bose system I have on my 02 QX4. It is the indash 6 cd model. Anyone able to confirm this? Thanks
