  1. +1 on Weathertech. They are durable and fit nicely.
  2. Cool, let us know what you find. I'm ready to see a hardcore R51. The front end is the same as an Xterra and I know there are solid axle kits sold for it, so that's not an issue. The rear should be relatively easy to convert to solid axle. There was a guy on the other forum that was going to put the rear end from a Frontier, but I have not seen anything about that lately. Here is one more pic that I for got to include. This is Wizard, from Hawaii, and he has a 7" coil over lift:
  3. Yeah, there is not that much R51 related stuff on this site, but people are into modding them. It's going to take a little more time for people to start thrashing them like the WDs and R50s. It's hard to take a $30K+ Pathy that's still under warranty and beat the hell out of it. Although there have been a few people that have started. Here are a few of my favs: If you really want to see what people are saying about R51s, then check out this site: My link It is totally opposite from this site. There is a little WD and R50 action, but the R51 section is very active.
  4. I'd go if it was a little closer. I know what you mean, I've been having a hard time getting my friends to go on a day run to some places around here. Being 100+ degrees outside does not help my cause. Good luck.
  5. I like the wheels, they look good. I bet they really look cool around 25mph. I almost got Destination AT's for our street tires last week because I heard the were quiet and handled well on the street, but I got a smokin' deal on some Toyo Open Country AT's. So far, I like them. Definitely quieter than the Bridgestone Revo's that we use off-road.
  6. In their defense, it was a mild section of the trail and they had a rack to hold on to, but yeah, I would rather ride inside the truck.
  7. Last Friday we were heading up Yankee Boy Basin near Ouray, CO and passed a red WD21 that was coming down. There were a couple guys riding on the roof. Was it anybody on this forum?
  8. Another member on here told me the other day that he saw a couple Xterras with solid fronts last year on a trail run. Being the same front end, I don't think it will be too much longer, especially if somebody puts out a kit. I advised the guy to cruise some Xterra forums.
  9. I found this on another forum the other day. I'm happy to see somebody taking on this project. Check it out: My link
  10. Cool, I'd like to see some pics when you get a chance. I hope to lift mine soon. I'm leaning towards the Bilstein adjustables in the front and lift springs in the back. As for the forum, I know what you mean. Pretty dead around here regarding R51s. I found this place last week, you should check it out. There's a lot more people into them there. My link
  11. I'm stoked about getting up there. It's a beautiful place. We've only been there during the winter time, so I'm looking forward to seeing everything green. My wife made reservations to ride the narrow gauge rail from Durango to Silverton. They have a package that includes riding the train up to Silverton, then taking an off-road Jeep tour, and a bus back down to Durango. That should be interesting. I have a friend that goes up to Telluride a couple times a year and he told me about some places to go around there. I've heard about some places east of Durango in the San Juan mtns, but have no details about them. Anybody been wheeling in this area? If so, speak up.
  12. We are heading to Durango, CO later this month in the Pathy. Anybody got any suggestions on wheeling and/or scenic spots in the area? Nothing hardcore though, it's still stock. I'm borrowing a buddy's trail book, but there is nothing like firsthand advice from people who have been there. Thanks.
  13. Congrats. We got our '06 a little over a year ago and really like. It's my wifes ride also. Yeah, there is not that much action in this section. It looks like there is only 5 of us posting. I put synthetic fluids in the tranny, transfer case, and both diffs yesterday, I'll let you know if I encounter any problems. I put Mobil 1 in the engine as soon as we got it.
  14. Hello. This is my first Pathfinder and 4x4. It's my wifes ride, so I cannot go wild with the mods, but a small lift and more aggressive tires are in the plans. I have friends with Jeeps and Toys and love to go 4 wheeling. We went to SE Oklahoma in early February and the Pathy did well in stock form. I don't see much here about the new Pathfinders, but hopefully that will change as tim...
