could be the driveshaft too, check for the u-joints and check the wheels and tires, if those are okay maybe you have an out of balance ds.
-
why the heck do you need the stud and spring??? and where is the front main seal?
-
lol 5w-30? geez, i run 10w-40 in my cars and 10w-30 in the winters. no reason to put that thin @!*% in old cars.
-
no, its probably for a jeep. you need to sell it to me for cheap.

I saw 2 pathies today, one could have been a xterra, both layered in mud driving north on i-65 in indianapolis. anyone here? i think one was red and the other silver?
-
checking in from northern indiana.

i go to a few other forums
forums.turbobricks.com
www.sromagazine.com/boards
www.turbodieselregister.com
i have a few other too.
-
that hb is way too clean underneath.
-
im not sure if the newer pathies have R&P steering but if its got a box, i would suspect the belt on the ps/p being loose.

either you are running to lean, timing too advanced, misfiring real bad, runbing too rich, or your cat is clogged/going bad. or all of the above.
-
lol I actually answered that question in the first part of the first sentance... I did not remove it at all
and your oil pan cleared it fine? wtf?
-
Did not have the taking out or putting back in of the front diff problem when i did mine (yes it has one )
But even if you can fit the engine back in with the hood in place, I agree with removing the four 10mm's and moving that veiw blocker out of the way
do you remember how you did the diff install then? because taking it out was a bitch.

On a side note, I see you have a International Harvestor Cub Cadet.... what year/model? looks like a 100.
yep, its a 1965 100 with the 10 hp kohler k241. 38 inch deck. i use it to mow about an acre. picked it up for 300 bucks. cant beat it, are you on ihregistry.com or anything?

Pressure wash everything under the hood with real degreaser(not the Gunk crap-in-a-can) while you have the chance. Do you know anyone with one you can borrow?
Nope, no one to borrow a pressure washer from. oh well, i dont care much about dirt.

hm.. wait til you try to get the motor back IN sly
we'll see about that
-
sounds like the injector driver is fried in the ecu. i dunno, does it run? check engine light work? can you pull the codes?
-
You may want to give yourself a little more room and remove the hood.... its only 4 10mm bolts and it goes back on easy -bounce-
i actually have plenty of space, the hood never got in the way.
-
the whole taking out the front differental while raising the engine up was the worse part. i have no clue how all this stuff is going back in.
-
What have i done??? :o
What i started with
After alot of swearing and blood
finally
that looks a lil empty
let the dissasembly begin
new motor and my front diffy
HOLY CRAP
turns out the # 6 rod bearing got fried sooo bad. it was oozing oout the side of the rod/crankshaft. the con rod is gloss black from the heat and quenching itself in old ass oil. it looks like the main cause was the oil pressure regulartor giving up the ghost and starving the engine of oil. im only half way done with tearing the engine apart and may find more breakage. take it easy guys.
-
well, i found an engine for 400 bucks that has 80k on it. wish me luck. hopefully ill get it up and running in a few days.
-
oh yay, i suppose i will just get another motor, will a vg33e work?
-
it also has brand new 31's on it. the invoice says 550 bucks worth of tires ill tear it apart and see what happened to the bottom end. what do i have to do to get the pan off? lift the motor up some?
-
hey, my first name is oliver, lol. yea, im going to tear the engine apart and see what it needs and hopefully make it into a trail rig/winter beater.
-
Well i just brought home a 92 pathfinder se. i got it for 600 bucks. the motor is toast (rod knock, spun rod bearing, valve noise), but still runs, has 180k on it, its a 5 speed and has lsd and disc rear end. i think i did ok, it has no rust only a little bit of surface starting in the lower corners of the rear doors. other then that i think its pretty solid. go here for pics:
