  1. I was going to use the old ones but one of them crumbled instantly. Lol That doesn't need to be anything special i assume no high heat or anything right?
  2. On mine you have a gasket at the firewall then about a 1/4" spacer then another gasket then the booster.
  3. Have a 93 WD21 the brake booster went bad on, I've got the old one out. The new one didn't come with the spacer and two gaskets on it like the old one has. Does anyone know where I can find the gaskets (I figured I could use the old spacer). I'm starting to think I'll be talking to the dealership parts dept. about this. On the other hand, do I need the gaskets? I assume that they are for preventing fumes and such out of the cab and maybe soundproofing. Thanks, Tristan
  4. I also have a 93 that I can take the dizzy out of as a test at least. I'll have to try that this weekend hopefully..
  5. So I pulled the codes and I think I'm getting 4 of them; 11, 33, 44, and 55. so looks like the bad is an oxygen sensor and camshaft position sensor if I did it right. I called autozone and they have an upstream O2 sensor but can't get the downstream and said that the vehicle isn't equipped with a camshaft position sensor. I disconnected the O2 sensor and it runs better at idle and even reving a little but still sounds like it stumbles a bit. I would have thought that if I got a code for the camshaft position sensor that it would have one, is that correct or is the auto parts store right and it does not. The distributor cap is new, I replaced that when I did the plugs and wires. I noticed the fusible link connectors are loose on the battery cable connector so I'm going to replace that too
  6. I'm not sure about codes, now that I can get it started I'll check for them, it wasn't last time I checked. Noob question though... what exactly is a Dizzy?
  7. Several months ago I started having a problem with My 95 pathy that goes like this.. She runs fine as long as its cold outside and you aren't going very far.. 15-20 miles or so. The problem is I live 62 miles away from work, so I can go maybe about 30-40 miles, mostly highway driving then it will stutter and die, give it about 20 minutes and it will start up and be good for another 30-40 miles. It seems to only do this when it's been running for a long time or if it is hot out. On a hot day (and I'm talking like as low as 75 degrees) it does it more often, it's been in the 90s recently and I can't even get it to stay running long enough to back down my driveway. I have replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, full tune up, checked fuses and fluids. I think it does have an exhaust leak (it's very loud) but I do not know how to verify that. Any ideas on what to try? Also I did try to drown her back in 2011, Drove into water deeper than I thought it was way too fast, sucked it into the engine, then my wife opened the passenger door and flooded the cab so the computer got soaked, Without thinking we tried push starting it, water shot out the tailpipe and it did start but did not run very long, towed it home and it sat at my house for 4 months and dried out but when I finally tried to start her up (jump start) she did with no problems and has run fine until November or December last year.
  8. So... Couple questions.. 95 Pathy, slightly cranked T-bars and and JGC springs in the back, the front suspension squeaks horribly, are there any grease fittings or anything for the front end? Also I'm looking at replacing all the shocks, any suggestions?
  9. Ok, I originally thought fusible links but when I took them to the auto parts store they did not recognize them as such and had no info on the electrical system.. thanks guys!
  10. Ok, I'm having a problem figuring this one out.. for several months the Pathy would be running and then as I'm driving would start losing power, the radio would start cutting out, then the dash, then the engine dies. Eventually (sometimes days or weeks) later I could get it to start again then the same thing would happen. hasn't started at all for 6-8 months.. I just haven't been able to work on it.. Replaced the starter relay yesterday, it jump started, now it runs but there are a couple wires right next to the battery that if I wiggle them while its running the engine dies.. no idea what they are or where they go.. they seem tight but... connect to the Positive terminal, about 4 inches long between the connectors and head toward the passenger side where the starter relay is.. any ideas on what these are?
  11. Replaced the starter relay, checked and blew the dirt and crud out of the fusable links, jumped it, in the garage charging the battery now. can't wait to test drive her.
  12. Ran Jenny Creeek on Saturday... Came back with a little damage but great fun otherwise

  13. I'd love to join you guys for this.. unfortunately I work every other weekend and the 30th is one that I'l be working.. another time perhaps
  14. ROFL B.

That's pretty funny... She found me... now to educate her about tire size...lol

    Tristan

  15. Thanks Simon, I figured it'd be pretty tight...
  16. It's probably been covered already but I can't find it... Question is if anyone knows if a Nissan VQ40 engine will fit in a '95 Pathy? Also if it does "fit" what else would need to be swapped/modified as far as accessories, and would the Manual tanny work with the VQ40, bolt pattern, torque etc... any thoughts on this... Looking to increase HP and Torque but not overly impact fuel mileage or I'd try for a 350 V8 or something... T
  17. I took a look at it again tonight and I think the leak is coming from the oil pump area. The PS belt doesn't look extremely tight but I can loosen it a bit and I'll try wiping it down and using the white powder to to determine the exact point of the leak..
  18. To start this off my Pathy has 278,000+ miles and has not leaked anything since I bought it this summer, So last week the alt/water pump belt broke and the engine overheated... a lot... almost maxed out the temp gauage before I noticed. I replaced all three belts and no problems. Except that now there is a slight oil leak from the front of the engine someplace, I checked the heads but didn't see anything so I don't think it's a head gasket... any Ideas? If the engine overheats does it build enough pressure to blow a gasket or seal?
  19. Hi All, I live in Lafayette, right near Boulder, been trying to get my pathy a little more trail ready. Think that's a great Idea COdreamin! I'd be up for a run or two some weekend if we can get something set up.. ya'll have fun Tristan
  20. Hey MrJim, I have to agree with you and 94Pathy also about the wheeling in Colorado though I haven't been able to go on many trails yet and none since re-indexing the T-bars and replacing all four shocks (one was broken at the lower mount). I think I've planned 3 trips that never happened because life keeps interfering... I love that you were able to get you're Pathy back and that there are people like the members of NPORA who are so willing to help out like they did! I live in Lafayette right near Boulder so just like 94Pathy said I'd also be up for a Trail some weekend and to meet the man who started a forum that has already provided me with so much knowledge and saved me a bundle of money is such a short amount of time owning a Pathfinder.. Thanks again and Happy Wheeling, Tristan
  21. Have a great time everyone!! Looking forward to pics/vids..
  22. Slide plates? Those the same as "skid plates"?
  23. That trail looks like a LOT of fun! Hope that everyone that does get there has a great time!
  24. Um... yeah... well, you both have long hair ya know... I got confused.. lol.. sorry Seriously though, I did finish adjusting the T bars yesterday and both the height and ride are fabulous now. Kove, yeah I do have the heated seats, I haven't tested them yet, I believe the rear brakes are drum but haven't really paid attention, and I do have a LSD on the rear. I may be interested in the Nerf bars, do you have a picture of them? Need to show the wife before I can buy anything for the Pathfinder..
