  1. wow.... quite a lot of environmental drama for a group of people known as nissan offroaders. wouldnt that imply that every one of us burns fossil fuel for recreation? hmmmm......

disregarding the environmental politics and focusing on the question at hand.......

it is possible to lose power by over sizing your exhaust as has been mentioned above...... i would reccomend not only an exhaust specialist but a specialist who knows your motor's needs as well, seeing as you are trying to employ a unique system. perhaps dual pipes with a smaller diameter would alleviate the torque-loss issue. who knows, but im sure whatever route you take the board would be interested in your results.

    peace to all

Amen! We drive some of the worse MPG SUV's ever made.....getting 15-17 MPG in stock form perfectly tuned up and California Smog legal.....that's SAD! I don't think a handful of people (Compared to # of car owners in the world) running without a CAT is is that big a deal....My house Air Conditioning unit that raises my electricity bill form a measly $67 a month to $600 in the summer! That can't be real efficient?

Not trying to piss anyone off, but has anyone heard Dennis Lear's song "i'm an asshole"? It's hilarious!

  2. And here i thought going to court over a house I was selling was Drama....Holy S*** Dude!

Man i hope your layer buries him......word to the wise...don't do anything to compromise the lawsuit....don't talk to him orhave any contact with him at all.....Anything you say or do can be used against you. I found this out and thats how I was forced to sell my last house for $400,000 not the $485,000 it was worth....

Good luck man....Kick His A&^...in court that is...Then after court is over....give us all a call and we'll take care of him!

  3. Not sure this helps but here is the clereance on my 02 with LT 245/75 R16 (no lift). Not sure if Nissan re-did the strut when they went to 16 inch wheels? Also not sure what my metric tires measure out at in inches. In other words, this may be a complete waste of a post by me, sorry in advance if it is.

    TireClearence1.jpg

Pictures are never a wasted post......but anyway on to the real question...where did you get that ruler? Or should I ask (quietly stashing my stuff as I ask)

  4. If you go with an offset rim yoyu can add 33x12.5x15's with some trimming or hammering! I fit 32x11.5x15's with a few plastic pieces removed and a little hammer convincing on some of the steel...

  5. Aparently your mechanic doesn't know headers very well...Thorley's make a good header with a real nice thick mounting plate...so warping and leaking is minimal at most. Make sure you get a second opinion at a muffler/exhaust place....

Sometimes you have to re-tighten the mounting bolts after you've driven a few hundred miles or so....

I say keep em and install them.....

  6. kmgar99 - Is that last picture that shows the clearence between the strut and tire with the 32's?! With my 31's (even though they measure 30.5") I have about 3mm of clearence and I have the SE package. If you get 2" out of a lift, with you gain 2" of clearence where the strut could come in contact? Thanks!

Yes....that is the clearance with my 32's.....With a 2" lift you DO NOT increase space between the strut spring perch and the top of the tire because all the lift does is increase the spring length that goes on top of the strut.....thus streching out the strut..... The distance between the spindle and the spring perch of the strut always remain the same. No-one makes a strut for the R50's with any different measurement between the spindle and the perch....

Man I hope that made sense!??!?

Take a look at my install of the AC 2" lift. Lift install

  7. Up until NASCAR completely screwed up Speedvision's programming I used to watch Bathurst when they had it on. These days, instead of motorcycle tuesdays, and airplane wendesdays, they have poker tournaments featuring NASCAR drivers, and cooking shows featuring their wives... I am impatiently waiting to see just how castrated the Dakar coverage will be to make room for Busch Drivers spelling bee this winter and if need arises I'll have to go postal on my TV remote.

    Hurrrrr...

No kidding, i actually cancelled my cable package that included Speed(vision) because of all that crap....if you guys ever see any real racing come back to Speed(vision) let me know

  8. So if the KYB GR2 is the only strut up front, then will this work:

    AC Rancho Struts

Just curious, maybe it will work? Is AC wrong? Thanks.

Pezzy: Thanks for the info on the lift, I don't mind the 2", just don't want to get buyers remorse. I would love to find the pics of the 6" lift on that Japanese R50!

Any of those Struts will work as long as its listed for your year Pathy. Also replace the strut bearings which i believe you called the strut towers....And also take a look at the K-MAC Camber adjusting kit it works wonders....

    K-MAC

If you need some help with the install check my site Install Help

  9. Welcome OR99....I'm not sure how rare your Pathy is, but I would love to take a closer look at that spare tire carrier (p.s. don't mind the set of removal tools in my other hand!)

My 97 has a LSD, but no rear spare, and by no means a matching spare. Also my 97 is an automatic, so since they are almost nothing alike...i'll shut up now...."walks away quietly" :hide:

  10. well, he must be.. if i was an owner of a business that was in part sales i'd also offer him my bolts and say i couldn't open the box to look for him.. what did you expect?

My point exactly......Not trying to defend AC, but come on man, business' don't survive by giving away info or product for free.

Find a place that sells industrial supplies like Grainger or McMaster-Carr or even a local bolt supplier like I have here, Ababa-QA. Bring one of the bolts to a machine shop or even Lowe's or Home Depot to find the thread count/pitch and the size.

I completely agree with the fact that AC has poor Cust/Serv. Trying to call them and find info on a product you want to buy is difficult at best....and IF someone gets back to you then you have to ask all the same questions again, because the lady who answers the phone asks you for all this info but the guy who calls you back never seems to have any of this info....Seems like my Doctors office...Hey wait a minute...No can't be! Never mind!
