thanks for the information, I thought I was hearing things when I first heard it but now that you say you hear it and a lot of others guys get the same noise ,then its normal they mention a way in the manual to get the little cover off then I could lube it up with wd 40 , but if its suppose to make that noise I wont take it apart leave well enough alone .thanks again.

thanks a lot what a relief to hear is normal, I saw a section in the manual to do with a small screwdrive and unlock a shift release, but why do that then it could slip into gear and if you have a kid or a dog in the pathfinder its not to safe.thanks I knew it would be a piece of cake for guys like you that really get into these pathfinders , its my first and the next thing I wanted to do was change the oil and filter,but I think I have to remove a big plastic cover under the front.

ronplanes@optnline.net question, if you don't mine but it seems you know a lot about pathfinders in this forum, question may be a piece of cake for you to answer. today while in park and engine running I step on the brake to release the shifter from Park on my automatic and I hear a slight click near the shift in the consol area ,step on the brake again same click ,then put it in drive no click ,put it in neutral no click, what do you think it is , it almost sounds like a solenoid click or the lock release that doesn't let you shift out of park without your foot on the brake,? anybody ever hear this little click sound ,radio off and quiet ? If you got an automatic try it let me know

youll be ok with the Tranny filter ,the problem was the oil filters and there bypass valves. click pn picture to see mt pathy

yes your right about the Pure One filters ,they are good so is the Wix

yes your right about those paper end caps inside the cheaper filters you listed , I got the right answer on my nissan oem filter , they say when the book calls for the shorter one 65f00, the mechanics say get me the 9e000 its a good fit and longer and better

I just bought a PN 15208-93000, on the box it shows that it goes up to a 1995 with a VG33E engine, I own a 2003 with a VQ35DE engine , is this going to be the right filter? for my 2003 V6

need 1 exta chip key made and A locksmith says he must go into the remote aftermarket box under the dash and remove and program the remote starter key , I went to nissan to day and they said NO for a 2003 pathfinder whos right

Has any one ever locked there chip type key in there pathfinder in there pocket book or ignition on or off condition? and then used your extra spare remote the one you keep at home to open the door? Will it work or will the chip key inside the car stop your spare remote from opening the door? just want o be prepaired for the unexspected ,to me its a bunch of crap to make the insurance companys rich [click click ,churp churp,flash flash ] wooopeeedo a 300.00 bill to get towed to the dealer for a lock out$$$$

when you have a new key made by a locksmith, does he program the new key to the old one ? how does he program the chip in the key? and what about the key in the remote box, does he have to program that one also?

when they inspect my wifes car the wires are in the open and they clamp a prob or something on the spark plug wire to check the emmissions, ON a Pathfinder my 2003 I cant see any wires, so how do they find the wire to do the inspection? anybody ever watch them do it thanks if you know?

yes my remote starter box fell down and was hanging over my brake peddle so I pulled over and tucked it under some heavy wires by the steering colum , its staying there 2 weeks now , should I mount it up higher under the dash for any reason?

QUESTION: I just looked over what was under the dash and other is a 3x5 box with a kind of bubble circle on one side with a small hole in it like a microphone, and there is a red and black twisted wire coming out the side of it with some heaver wires next to the twisted red and black wires, and I could see the black antenna wire draped over the lock cylinder,If this is any help ,but what I'm worried about is if I start the engine with my remote and then put a flat key without a chip in it and turn it to the on position will my engine be totally shut down to the point of needing a tow to Nissan.

Even with the key away from the ignition I think the key has to be directly into the lock cylinder for it to be seen by the black antenna wire draped over the cylinder lock under the dash , because they already have a chip key in the little remote box under the dash.

WHEN THEY say they need your car and your chip key to make another copy of your key, WHY DO THEY NEED THE CAR THERE, what do they actually do to program the key to the car? anyone ever see them do this.any one knows how its done? Do they plug a computer into your car or what? someone said the only reason they need the car there is to see if the new key they make up is accepted by your system in your car. ?

2003 pathfinder LE has remote starter 1 chip key and a cut flat blank ,I called a few lock smiths and dealers for a new chip key to be made, the price is to high for me in my opinion $200.00 . so the next best thing is to Hide the chip key inside in a good place ,Tell the wife never ever remove this key with your pocketbook or its a sure lost key. Hide the blank cut flat key under bumper if ever needed if wife looses the remote that opens the windows and door locks only it wont start it of coarse without a chip' and use the remote to start it on a cold day and open and lock the doors , did anyone ever do this?
