Has any one checked if the Nissan Patrol uses the same drive train as the Pathfinders? Seems there are quite a few goodies for the Patrol, all outside the USA of course.

Ok, I searched the forums for info on lockers but all I found were references to ARB being the only thing I can use in my 2003 R50. I am trying to find any locker for the rear diff. Any info will be really appreciated. Am I really stuck with only ARB as an option, and why is that.

Unreal. Only $3200 to be able to blow the CHP off the road. Wonder how much power that will add.
-
I bought my 2003 Pathfinder used and never thought to check out the sun roof drains. They were clogged with all kinds of crap. Evidently the previous owner left the roof open a lot. Had to snake a wire thru them plus blow them out with an air hose to get all the crud out. That solved the roof leak.

I do not doubt that I am crazy but, the stupid rig still sits like a potato digger. A lot taller for the bigger potato's but still low in front. The 140lb front bumper only dropped it an extra 1/8 inch. Guess I need to figure out how to do an 8" lift and be done with it.
-
I did the AC lift on my 2003 and the front sits low. I will be adding spacers very soon to level it out.

This is what your turn signal stalk looks like with a factory fog light switch. The fog light on/off switch is just to the right of the head lamp switch.
-
My 2003 Pathfinder has factory fog lights built in to the bumper. There is a rotating switch on the turn signal post, where the light switch is also located. It should be inside the regular light switch. I just cut the wires to the factory lights and wired the new ones in. Worked perfectly.

I am sure I saved a baby's life some where in the Valley by clicking the gas cap 4 times so, I guess it must be worth it.
-
Well, the SES light came back and I stopped by the Auto Zone. Imagine my embarassment when the code told me to tighten the stupid gas cap. Geez, 1 click short and the system has a melt down.
-
Ain't it just the way things go. I pull into the Auto Zone store, get the unit and go back to the car. The "service soon" light went out and no error codes came up. I am happy there was no problem but was rather surprized at what happened.
-
Guess I will find out tomorrow morning. I sure hope I don't get on a first name basis with them for scanning error codes.
-
I just spoke with my local Auto Zone in Moorpark, Ca. Basically they rent you a $170.00 dollar scanner so you can scan the system. When you get the code they refund the deposit, tell you what the alleged peoblem is and send you on your way, unless you buy the replacement part, then they send you on your happy way.
-
Thanks for the info. I will call Auto-Zone to rent one.

NICE! A good modification. I got the bored part down so all I need now is the welder and training on how to use it. Hmm, I might be too dangerous with a welder and a little knowledge.
-
Looks nice. The only problem with a front end hit is that there is nothing behind the grill guard to keep it from going into the hood, etc. The whole front OEM bumper is nothing but a piece of cheezy plastic. Might let the insurance know just so it is included in coverage.
-
Auto Zone not reading codes in the peoples republic of california would make sense. This state sucks with all the wacko's running the show. I will try the procedure mentioned and see what happens.
-
COOL! Thank you for the info.
-
I can do that.
The carrier pin is a spring loaded unit. It can be accessed via the removable end plug.

For no apparent reason my "service engine soon" light came on. I just had the oil, filter, transfer case, both diff's and tranny serviced with all new fluids. I heard that one of the major auto parts stores will plug in a computer unit to see what is wrong. Does any one know if this is true and, which store will do that?

I had the spare mounted as low as possible without getting into the departure angle. Used a straight line to measure it out. There is just no way to avoid losing some of the rear view. If it is too high there is way to much stress on the swing out and too low you snag the ground or what ever is lurking out there. I did not like losing so much rear view but had to get the tire off the roof. It was pushing the roof down and causing the seal on the sun roof to leak. Too big to put any where else. Oh well, the perils of going out to get wet and dirty. A small sacrafice I guess.

A friend of mine told me about a guy that does fabrication work so I checked him out. He had some items he was working on and looked like he knew what he was doing. The bumper is made out of 2"x6"x1/4" with 1/2" steel plate for the mounting brackets. I had him do a full wrap around to the wheel wells so I could also gain some rear side protection from those pesky rocks that jump out in front of you. The swing arm is made with sealed bearings. The arm is 2"x2"x1/4" with 1 2"x1/4" tube support. The original estimate was $700 but with a late modification it added $75.00 more for materials. He offered to make 1" strut spacers for me as well as installing Warn hubs on the front. I will have him do that next week hopefully. With my KMA front bumper, A/C full skids and this rear bumper my rig is starting to get pretty bullet proof. Now I just need to get some lockers. Hope I can find some.

My apologies for the size. Thought I had it right this time.
Ok, hopefully, here it is.
Engine Oil

Ya best be checking that oil regularly if you try and go 25K. I sure hope the filter is bigger than the cheesy little stock ones that go on the R50. I would not even think about going much over 5K, but what the heck, we all do our own thing and hope nothing blows up.
