  1. Yeah but in the "frozen tundra" that is Edmonton, that speed can be a hard commodity to come by. Even here with the ruts and ice I can usually get it started without assistance.
  2. Well, I have to say, with the ignition problems that I have been fawking with lately. I have to say that manual is nice because your never left stranded. Left your lights on..... Push it Starter bunged.......... Push it Weak Battery............ Push it Other than that, 4Lo in second = no clutch and most obstacles cleared.
  3. see, this is why this forum is so great. You ask a question you feel kinda silly asking and get reasonable, reliable, and often "Tried and tested" responses. Thank you guys for your input.
  4. I think that the mudders that I have on have been pounding the panel with rocks so its a fairly substantial hole. I may have to do the sheet metal patch greg mentioned. We'll see. Keep the suggestions coming, thanks everyone.
  5. HMMM.... Flammability, never thought of that. With exhaust directly under both sides, I am seeing the recipe for disaster. Dammit, I kinda thought that I had a decent idea there.
  6. Hello again, long time since I posted anything here. I have a question that may seem a little ridiculous to some but if you have a cheap viable alternative I am more than open to suggestions. The two rear quarter panels on my truck are rusted out, allowing water and mud into the "hollow" for the quarter panel where the tail light harness is. Now I live in Canada, so lots of snow and moisture. It is causing me issue and I think I have come up with a cheap although semi "redneck" fix. So here it is, if I were to plug the hole at the bottom and fill the quarter panel (1/3 to 1/2 full) with expanding foam would the pressure push out my panel. The expanding foam is water resistant and mold resistant so I think that it at least has some chance of being a successful stopgap. I hope this doesn't seem overly schtupid but I don't have the expertise or funds (or parts) to replace the panels properly. So what do you think? Workable? Fix but lame? Not gonna work? Just plain dumb? Anyways thanks as always for the input, and if you have a different suggestion please feel free to put it out there.
  7. Will these fit my truck, don't think our seller knows his pathfinders that well. 95-99 two different models right? WD21 and R50 correct. Anyways will these fit my 94? Hope noone scoops them before I can. http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-...QAdIdZ148680501
  8. Here in Edmonton, Husky started selling 91 as their regular and 94 as their premium. So 91 for same price as 87 everywhere else. But when I was using the 91 my engine was running real hot, like top 3/4 of temp gauge (almost topped out on hot days.) Was getting about another 90-100km to a tank. But switched back to Shell 87 and have maintained the milage. Cleaned out the engine residue maybe? Well whatever it runs cool again and I kept the milage, so YEAH ME!
  9. To me this seems unbelievable. Australia has some seriously rough terrain (not speaking from experience). You would think that 4X4 mods are a part of life there. In the quote "outback", stock rigs are not only ineffectual but can be dangerous if you become stuck or break down. Just my opinion.
  10. Best site I have found so far https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=90

  12. So i know that an LSD will make my truck more than a one wheel wonder. Is there or does there need to be a similar component in the front diff as well?
  13. This is really helpful, My truck is fairly new to me so I am still getting used to things. On my little jaunt on Monday, climbed a hill about 15-20 feet high that was mid-fairly steep. like I said my clutch is not in great shape, and when I got up the hill I got that clutch stank that we all love so much. So you guys are saying that 4lo and and a little gas is better that just gunning it up. I know that this sounds kinda like a lame question, but I wanna save my clutch and I haven't owned a 4x4 for about 8-10 years.
  14. Sick truck. Wish I had a little more "English" under the hood at times.
  15. Just wondering if anyone has use this product. It seems like a good package when I priced out the parts individually. Just wondering, cause if I'm gonna do ball joints and have it all apart, maybe I should do it all at once. http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/calmini-hd-u...-95-p-3682.html
  16. My Shep X ... Kane. Not the best photos but...
  17. No, it the opposite. it stops when I release the clutch. The rubbing is accompanied by a humming and feels like (don't exactly know what im talking about here but) the pressure plate is rubbing or something similar. I have been musing about the throw-out bearing with a friend of mine. Problem is that if i do have to replace clutch, clutch = 100-400+, not too big a problem but labor is so Fawking expensive. Don't know whether to just drive it till it dies (if it even dies) or bit the bullet and get a new clutch and spend the cash...which in my case is limited.
  18. oh, its the 5spd manual. thanks for any help
  19. Hello, tried to search for a similar thread but didn't seem to see anything. So here's the deal, when I start up my truck and engage my clutch, there are times when I get a rubbing feeling in the petal and floor. it seems to go away after 10-15 mins of driving. There are times when I have trouble getting it into gear (mostly 1st, so I do the 2nd-1st switch). Just wanna know if anyone has an idea of what I should look to fix. Sorry, in a hurry as I am posting at work. If there are any other details I can give just let me know
