UPDATE: FIXED!**NEW VIDEO** Starting problem
ninoj replied to ninoj's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I am dying without a ride. Man, it sucks to have car problems. I got a friend working there as a mechanic so I am positive I won't get dinged with a storage fee. -

Check out the new video. -
I had a similair problem. The car would sit and there and the battery would eventually die. The problem was my rear wiper motor. It was fried and it tried to work and was draining all my battery power even when the car was off.

I was pretty skeptical of their quick fix, and I was right. It seems the problem is still there. They removed the error code but it did nothing to fix my initial problem. -

So I called a flat bed tow truck and had it towed to the dealer. They replaced the AIT air intake temperature sensor and said it should be fixed. The car started and didn't shut off while I was driving. I will post the results after a week of driving. Here was the cause they gave: Sensor was showing -45C in cold temp and 220C in warm temp. The engine was burning too rich and thus was flooding itself and giving some crappy mileage. Total cost $150. -

Is this the timing check? - Air conditioner off - AT in Neutral - Start engine and warm up fully, do not exceed 1000rpm - Open engine hood and run engine at 2000rpm for 2 minutes under no-load - Perform diagnostic test mode II (no idea if this is required) - Run engine at 2000rpm for 2 minutes under no-load. Race engine (2000-3000rpm) two or three times under no-load, then run engine at idle speed. - Turn off engine and disconnect TPS - Start and race engine (2000-3000rpm) two or three times under no-load, then run at idle speed - Check ignition timing with a timing light (crank has 5 marks, 0,5,10,15,20) should be 15 +/- 2 BTDC. - Adjust timing if necessary by turning distributor after loosening securing bolts. - Turn off engine and reconnect TPS -

Cap and rotor are brand new, I replaced them and I am still having this problem. Where in the ignition would you say the problem is? It's also stalled a few times as well when I was driving and came to a stop or was braking just before coming to a stop. -

I cut the supply line in half and checked the pressure, it was bang on. I then started the car and the pressure was correct as well. When I shut the car off I lost no pressure as well. This is so weird, I would love some feedback on this one. It really boggles my mind. -
Ok its confirmed, the lower control arm was the culprit, man this guessing game will cost me a few bucks more, but at least I got the problem fixed!

Its easy to find a door. Go to www.car-part.com You can even get the same colour so no painting.

I see the supply and return lines on the passenger side of the car but I can't see anywhere i can connect the gauge. Can anyone help? -
Ok, so I put the car on a hoist and looks like the lower control arm bushing is seized and was slowly grinding away at itself over every bump. I need a bolt and nut from the dealer, because that seized aswell. I will post tomorrow the outcome.
-
I am going to try to take a pic. I took out the sway bar and was driving around. The clunk is still there. Tomorrow I am going to replace the lower control arm, I have a feeling it is the bushing. I will post my findings!

Thanks! I appreciate it, I called the dealer and he was like $500 for the colour order and then they started laughing at me.

No, I bought it used and it was like that ever since. Just thought I would get around and fix it now.
