  1. So I spent the day yesterday troubleshooting my 94 LE for the fuel pump not working. Put in a new pump and relay and still nothing. Traced the problem to the relay not getting a ground connection from the ECM. What controls the ECM to initiate the completion of the ground connection? Is there a sensor or something that tells the ECM to cut the ground and stop the fuel pump? I just cut the ground wire at the ECM and connected the relay wire to the grounding screw and it runs now, but would like to fix it properly.
  2. You access it from under the front fender. Just remove the plastic fender liner held in with a few screws. The hard part was fishing the wire into the dash. Then I figured out how to take it apart. Remove the glovebox. The two plastic stops that prevent the glovebox from flopping all the way open just push in. Now you have access to remove all the screws to the glovebox. You will also want to remove the plastic panel on the exterior sidewall down by the passengers feet and remove the dash panel to the right of the glovebox. It didnt seem that this piece came off easily at first, then I discovered just a couple fasteners holding it in. By removing this it makes it possible to connect the new antenna wire to the antenna wire that runs to the stereo.
  3. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/ has the factory service manual for your pathfinder. Look in the electrical section for the wiring diagrams.
  4. I found the power antenna timer. It was behind the cargo area panel on the passengers side.
  5. Fuses all checked out. Looks like there is a power antenna timer but I can't find it. Anyone know where this is? Looks like from the diagram on page EL-82 it is connector number 318M. If you are looking at the diagram it is on the very top of the page if you are looking vertically, or on the right if you look at it horizontally.
  6. I installed a new nissan factory power antenna on my 94 LE and it doesn't raise and lower. When I first installed it I had the plug attached but didn't have the antenna cable attached to the stereo yet. When I turned the pathfinder on and off the antenna went up and down like it should. I went about doing some other work under the hood and eventually got the wire routed under the dash to hook up to the stereo. Now it doesn't work at all. I also had the windshield replaced a while ago and noticed they did not install the new windshield with the antenna on the glass. I do have the connector under the passenger A pillar, but there is not a wire on the windshied to attach to. Is there a relay that controls the antenna motor? Where does the trigger wire (blue) from the stereo go that then supplies two wires to the antenna motor? What fuse circuit could be effecting this?
  7. Well I decided to get the 31x10.5r15 Trailcutter M&S. It is just a snow tire that should fit without any problems. I have them on my Silverado and they are great on the snow. If it looks like 32's would fit I can get them in the spring when I don't need the snow tires anymore.
  8. So with the 3" lift would your tires still rub or do you think it would clear okay? I don't have the lego rims, they are the factory 6 spoke aluminum. Would the backset be the same as the Lego?
  9. I couldn't find the box. Can you be a bit more specific on where it is located on a 94 LE.
  10. It great when you let people borrow the car and you warn them but they don't listen. I can't tell you how many times I've told someone about it and then they lock themselves out of the car. Mechanics notoriously lock themselves out. One time I had someone borrow the pathfinder and they locked themselves out... they were so embarrased they hired a locksmith to come open the door rather than ask to borrow the spare key. I warned them!
  11. Okay, I've searched for the past hour on what size tire to use with a 3" body lift from 4x4parts.com. I'm looking for a good snow or AT tire (that performs well on snow). I'm thinking tall and narrow. My searches basically came up with a 31x10.5r15 on stock will fit without rubbing or 33's fit if you have both a 3" body lift and a 3" suspension lift. I'm in between with only a 3" body lift. Will 32's fit stock 15" rims without rubbing? I've got a '94 LE. Recommendations on tires and suppliers are welcome!
  12. Forget messing with the speedo... just get a GPS that shows the speed on the display!
  13. I guess I need to give it just a little more pursuasion then. Thanks guys.
  14. How does the knob come off the shifter? I tried turning it, but I force it so hard that I'm afraid something will break.
  15. I searched before posting.... Will look again and maybee I'll find something.
  16. So this last weekend was pretty busy. Got a 3" body lift installed and waiting on delivery of a Kennisaw front bumper so that I can install that as well. Question is... with the Kennisaw bumper, I opted to not install new blinkers in the bumper and figured that I would convert the front marker light into a combination marker light/blinker. Has anyone else done this conversion? Are there any simple tricks I should know prior to going down to NAPA to try and find a bulb/socket combination that will work.
  17. Thanks for the link to the download. On page 2 was my problem. The Rovolution sensor was partially unplugged. It's nice to fix things that don't cost you any money!
  18. FSM??? I found a self diagnosis PDF in the Garage How To's... is that what you are referring to?
  19. Might be the TPS. I remember it kicked a code a while back for the TPS, but it hasn't ever come back so I thought it was just an old code that was never cleared out. I heard the TPS was a pain to install and set properly. Is that true or was I just given a line of crap?
  20. So a month ago a had the mechanic look a the transmission fluid and he said it looked good and did not need to be changed. Today we looked and found that the tranny fluid was a quart low. We added a quart and the problem of shifting is still apparent. The problem of it downshifting when you let off the gas happens whether or not the overdrive button is pressed. If you are cruizing at 55 then let off the gas it downshifts and revves up. Step on the gas again and it will correct the shifting and get in the right gear. If you really step on it, it will downshift properly and accelarate.
  21. After looking at it a bit closer, it seems that it only happens at speeds of 45 or higher. Anyone have any input?
  22. While traveling at any speed and you remove your foot from the accelerator, the transmission shifts into a higher gear when you reapply pressure to the accelerator the transmission then shifts back into a lower gear. Any ideas on what is causing this?
  23. Thanks for all the input. It's great to see the creativity that comes out with everyone's ideas. My fix was just to realign the latch loop. It was just a little skewed and it seems to be working for the moment. We will see if it lasts.
  24. Thanks for the help everyone. 94extreme gave me what I needed to be productive in my search. I was looking for a push button type switch and I now know that's not the case. I've been an active member on other car forums in the past, but now have a new project car so this forum is going to be my new home for awhile. The one thing that I noticed is that this forum does not have as many links as I've seen on other forums. I always try to make the posts have a solution not just a "start over", or "dead end" mentality. Meaning that every word that we write and every post that we add is creating an ever expanding library of information. Inevitably somebody will search for "hatch switch" and this post will pop up on the search database. When that member opens the post and sees "do a search" as the responce rather than a link to a post that has the answer, you just made that post a useless dead end. Not only do you not help the original member that posted, you are building and supporting the creation of a library of useless posts. I'm sorry that I was not knowledgeable enough to know that the switch and latch were integrated together, but forums are meant to be a sharing of information and experiences. It is upon this that we create an environment that supports our shared interest in pathfinders and we help each other as work through our challenges.
  25. I found this post that was helpful. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...hl=hatch+switch
