  1. 45k miles and rear drive shaft just replaced. No noticable shake only a squeaking noise from under the truck. I'm glad I opted for the extended warranty.
  2. Have the dealer check the front propeller shaft and u-joints. I have an 05 w/ 42k miles and I just had these replaced under warranty.
  3. I looked at an X before buying my Pathy, though the Grand Cherokee was my other option (employee discounts, I have both Chrysler and Nissan, etc.) I liked it's ( the X's) capabilities but price wise I thought I was getting more for the money with the Pathy. As for the Pathy, I could do without the VDC, though you can turn it off (sort of), I can live w/ IFS but I am not sure about the IRS. Time will tell. Being slightly upscale did come into play when considering the Pathy but it was not the only deciding factor over the X. As much as I liked the X I just couldn't stand all the unpainted plastic. But with starting a family and traveling the freeways alot I just wanted the larger vehicle, so the Pathy won. Plus I really like the styling. As far as the power is concerned, the X has 265 horses, the Pathy has 270. The difference is in the weight. My Pathy weighs in at a portly 4700-4800 lbs. I believe the X is at least 300-400 lbs less. Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong! I figure that my truck is in the mid 7 second range to 60, which is good for this class but I'm not running the 1/4 mile so I really don't care. It's pretty quick, it can pull a boat and as I said before, I like it. As far as being a grocery getter, that's what most SUV's end up doing anyways. At least where I live, those that venture off road in search of fun are in the minority.
  4. The X's are cool, NSIMO Frontier crew cab is awsome. I always wanted a Pathfinder and the new one being on a scaled down Titan frame sealed the deal. Just wish there were more aftermarket options for my Pathfinder.
  5. I'll take two white reflective please. Just let me know where to send the money. Thnks
  6. A pic without the running boards. Now I need to find some mud.
  7. The running boards are off! The task took about 30 minutes total. All you need is a socket set w/ 10 & 12mm sockets. 10MM is for the srews that hold the brackrt to the bottom of the board and the 12mm is for the nuts that hold the upper part of the bracket to the underbody. A total of 12 bolts and 12 screws. The attched link shows some of the pics. Any questions let me know. Thanksrunning boards
  8. I know that those guys like trucks that drive ans act like cars. Pilot, Highlander, Ridgeline, etc. I liked the old X and Frontier as well but never had a chance to see one in action off road. Most of the trucks are around that do leave the pavement are of the old Big 3 variety.
  9. Car and Driver just did the same test. Xterra won but I was disappointed that they didn't use a Pathifinder. Also, they kept slamming the old Xterra in their report.
  10. I will not have time until after the 8th, so hopefully I'll get a chance on the 12th to attempt removing them. I'll take plenty of pics. I tried to take a look underneath today and it looks like either three bolts on each side or three sets of bolts. I couldn't get a decent look without crawling underneath. I saw pics of your off roading adventure, RIKK, how does she handle? It looked like a blast. Pezzy, I looked at your pics too, looked like a lot of fun! I wish we had snow like that here. Thanks for the info!
  11. Good idea. I did the same thing with the splash guards when I removed them. Just put the screws back in. Even without off roading it those running boards are a pain, unless you like dirty pant legs. They are just a resting place for snow and mud.
  12. Getting the time to do it is the hard part, but I have to do it before I go on vacation. Thnks
  13. I thought I would ask before attempting this myself. Has anyone tried removing their factory running boards? I was going to do it myself but I got lazy, then I was going to hire a mechanic my brother knows but he dosen't seem interested in making some money so I guess I'll just do it myself. If anyone has done this already and could let me know how it went I would appreciate it. I couldn't imagine it being too difficult but I haven't looked underneath the truck yet. When I attempt this I'll take some pics in case anyone is interested.
  14. Thanks! I'm not sure if it's going to snow in OH but from what I can tell it's going to be mid 40's and sunny in Chicago next weekend. The wife and I are heading there for a 3 day vacation. My truck was great in the snow. The most we have had this winter was about 6" back around Thanksgiving. Didn't need to use the 4wd but tried it out anyway. Now, if we could get 8" of snow +...... sly

mzxtreme, I'll take two in white.
  16. Thanks. A 3" lift inch is being considered. Changing the tires and rims will probably happen first, if I don't change rims i'll go either 265/75/16 or 275/70/16 and I have a couple choices: Mickey T radial MTX, BFG AT's (had these on my 2001 Ranger, they were great). I'm hoping to take it off raod as soon as though runnig boards are off. I don't have a free weekend until after the middle of next month.
  17. I rearranged the photo album so that the Pathy shows up first. I had to sell the stang, 3 1/2 years old, and tons of electrical and computer problems. Hopefully the photo album is viewable, even though the quality of the pics suck.
  18. 4000 mi & 14-15 city (what I mostly drive) and 17-19 hwy, on a good day. Drive into a 25-30mph wind on the expressway going 80-85, expect 12. I'm an aggressive drive so hopefully your results will be better.
  19. We had the Altima last summer when we were at Whitefish, so we didn't have a chance to really go exploring. Tons of DNR officers, though. It looked as though you could have some serious fun of those beaches and trails. Joe Never been to the dunes by Silver Lake, I'll have to check it out some time. I'm originally from Roscommon County and my wife grew up in Canton and we've lived in Farmington Hills and now Novi. Our place is up for sale as we are looking to move further out of the city. We like the area but we want a larger place and some land as well. Thanks. Also... placed a link for photos in 2005 forum.
  20. One last time. I need a better camera.Pathfinder, etc.
  21. Let's try this again. Pathy only.
  22. Yeah, thanks.... it's not easy living there. I need a beer and to figure out what I did wrong.
  23. Pics of the Pathy and Altima after a much needed bath!

  25. I've lived in MI all my life and have never been to the isle. I have to go someday, I hear it's incredible. Copper Harbor is a first too. Never been past Whitefish Point. It's been a long week at work but I'll get some pics up of my Pathy this weekend, and the dog too.
