  1. There is a power regulator unit that attaches to the back of the cluster that goes bad and causes the fuel gauge and coolant gauge to stop functioning. The Nissan part number is 24866-54A00 and the listed part name is Regulator Assy. I changed mine and everything went back to normal.
  2. Just did the fluids in the transmission, transfer case, and diff's with all new fresh Redline MTL and 75w90. The old fluids didn't look too bad, but the transmission sure feels smoother (and a bit quieter) with the new stuff.
  3. Just did the solder repair on the door lock timer and the locks work perfectly now! Thanks for the link to the repair, it saved me a good chunk of money.
  4. I just won a set of brand new front and rear Bushwacker ExtendaFenders for my Pathy on Ebay. Ended up getting them for $76.43 total for both sets with $17.00 shipping. Can't wait to get these mounted up!!!
  5. Nevermind, a break in the weather gave me a chance to get it all laid out. C/L to steering damper - (1) M10x40 metric hex flange bolt and (1) M10, pitch 1.25 metric flange nut steering damper to damper mounting pin - (1) M8, pitch 1.25 metric flange nut steering damper pin bracket to chassis - (1) M8x30 metric hex flange bolt (bottom hole on bracket), (1) M8x25 metric hex flange bolt (top hole on bracket) This thing makes a huge difference in steering smoothness and stability on the highway. Why the heck wasn't it installed on the Pathys? Cost cutting?
  6. Anyone have a list of the bolts/nuts needed to mount the OEM setup? I have the OEM pin and Monroe stabilizer, but its storming here and I'm not digging the idea of crawling under the truck right now.
  7. My stock radio just died today I checked the fuse in the main box and it checks out fine. I also pulled the deck and the harness is getting full power at the plugs. The factory manual shows a fuse at the back of the deck, but mine doesn't have one there. The only thing that was done today was the battery being removed and replaced with a new fresh one. I'm thinking that maybe a diode or something popped in the deck. I looked in the manual and don't see any mention of any kind of code or reset procedure like newer cars have. Any ideas? If it is dead, does anyone out there have a nice factory am/fm - cassette deck for a 92 they want to sell? I've considered moving up to a nice aftermarket deck, but prefer the low profile stock look in this truck.
  8. I was just under the truck yesterday planning out that exact project!
  9. Yup, my pumpkin still has it's sticker!
  10. I was just nosing around the undercarriage and noticed that I have the LSD.
  11. Dang, that's what i figured. I'm guessing that it's a soldering-type replacement for the bulbs also. I love these forums, you can get a helpful response in a short amount of time without all the smart-ass comments I se on some other forums. Thanks guys!!
  12. Which switches on the dash are supposed to be illuminated? I got my climate control lighting sorted out, but the switches around the steering column are are all dark (except the dash illumination switch). Are the other switches, cruise control, defroster, hatch glass pop, interlock bypass, etc) supposed to be lit also? If so, is there a fix other than replacing the switch?
  13. Got any pics of your truck? I like the list of upgrades you've got on it.
  14. Yup, that did the job. Of course I was overthinking the situation thinking that it was just strange engineering by Nissan.
  15. The truck has been running beautifully, but I decided to clean the MAF sensor and throttle body as a bit of preventative maintenance. The throttle body was pretty gummy, but cleaned up well. It was a pleasant surprise to see what a big difference this little bit made! The truck runs even smoother and revs much crisper now. I love this truck! Next up is the timing belt, tensioner/roller, water pump, thermostat, bypass hose, and belts. Now for a body lift..........
  16. I have a question related to the window washers..... When I use the rear wiper/washer switch to spray, it sprays the font windshield. When I use the wiper/washer stalk (front wiper) to spray, it sprays the back window. Is this the usual arrangement? It seems backward from the usual, more logical function in other cars. I've checked the conections at the washer pumps and since they are two different style plugs it doesn't appear there is a crossed connection there.
  17. I feel absolutely no guilt, he named the price.
  18. I got this '92 SE V6 from a buddy at work that just wanted to get rid of it. It's a manual tranny 4WD with the red interior. The only real issues at purchase were the non-working gas gauge(fixed), non working speedo (needs VSS), 3 broken exhaust studs (to be fixed soon), cracked windshield (fixing next week), baaaaad tied rod ends (fixed), and non working central locking (needs a lock timer. The seller is the super clean type, so the interior is PERFECT!!! Not one tear, crack or discoloration. Still has the original mats, tool kit, sunroof panel, sunroof storage bag, manual, and remotes. I just did a tuneup and oil change and it runs like a top!! Anybody got a lead on a VSS for this beast? And P.S......No rust anywhere!!!!!!!!! And now the pics...... ** 1/28/10 Lock timer fixed, thanks for the link headpeace! **
  19. I have a similar problem where my cluster lights up, but none of the buttons, switches or climate control lights work. Ideas???
