I have been also thinking about making something up. Now that we have a tig welder i might do something out of aluminum and bolt it up top. Something low profile and something that i hope will not kill my gas milage. I will thinking about making a resessed (sp) are to put some lights up there out of the way.

Does that thing really weigh 70lbs?!?! Wow didnt feel anything near that when i pulled mine off. When i pulled mine off i didnt hear any plates fall if they were held on my the carrier bolts.

Here is a picture before it was welded up. kinda looks like a good job with the holes covered in duct tape. Here is the finished project. The floors where really hard to weld. I kept burning through and making the holes bigger.I put some primer on it. then went in from the bottem used some silicone to fill and gaps for water to get into then then put some rubberized under coating on it. I think it turned out pretty good for my first time. Yeah i know it looks like crap but it gets the job done.

I changed my rear shocks today, Didnt helo anything. I put some cheaper monro shocks in. Next im going to replace the coil springs. Is there anything that will give me about a 1 inch lift?

I hope to have it finished up tomorrow. I cut a big peice out to find good metal. I bought some thin 12g strips of steal to make reinforcement braces. then used some heavey duties steel for the patch. As of right now its riveted in, Im going to weld the rest of it together tomorrow. I will put up pix when im done.

I got the interior out and got some pics takin, this is what i have to deal with. I hope i can have the car together tonight so i can drive to schoool tomorrow. passenger side looks really good. Driver side not so good. And reasons I will not let anyone eat in my car! There is food everywhere in there. At least I found some money for my time (59 cents)

I was talking to my step dad this morning, hes going to help me fix it. We will be cutting it out and then using a tig welder to weld in a new sheet of metal. I think we are going to hold in place from the bottem weld it from the top and cover it with undercoating top and bottem. We will see how that works out. Bob

Im going to pull back the floor and see how bad it really is tomorrow. Im hoping that it is not bad. I might come up with some time to fix it tomorrow. What do you guy think i should do to stop it right the first time?

It does not have to look got at all under it. I would just like to stop it before i can drive the pathy like Fred Flinstone.

SO, I was looking around under the pathy today, and notice a nice rust hole under the gas peddle. What can i do to fix that? I dont have the means, know how, or the time to be cutting and rewelding some in. I will have it up in the air tomorrow i hope to replace shocks, I will try to snap a couple pics. Thanks Bob

its kind of to your own liking. I didnt like moving the mount to open the full back door. That and i didnt like having it out in the open and not locked up. I also like the way it looks with out the tire mount on the back. Less weight, im sure there are many other things that I could think up.

I would muh rather have it mounted in back. I would be more then willing to trade you if mine was not bent up and the latch frozen.

Where is your tire mounted right now?

Where the spare tires ever mounted inside? My spare tire rack is bent to crap and the latch no longer works. I ended up taking all of that off. The tire is now sitting in the back taking up lots of room, room that that could be used for more useful stuff, like when the GF is in the moo........anyways. Let me know. I might try to fab something up if nothing is made. Thanks Bob

I got the XE. Im kind of a poor college student so im not going to spend much on the shocks. Im going to put some money into this thing once im done with school and get another pathfinder. I do need to get new tires. I was just going to get 235/75-15's or should i get 31's? Im going to get some halfway good AT's. I dont know if i want to lift is 3 inches right now. I think it would look better if i was able to lift it a inch or inch and a half. I was reading with the headers that they need to be modified? Has anyone tryed boring out the TB alittle bit? I know on my neon that when i went from 49mm stock to 52mm there was a pig difference even with stock exhaust. How do you crank up the front torsion bars?

I have no idea why the engine way replace. I asked the guy and he kinda beat around the bush. The engine was replace with a engine that had about 20K on it. I might go over and ask him again why it was replaced. The rear end does not look to sag much at all, it seems to be about the same as the front. I will replace the shocks for now because they are pretty cheap.
