Hmmm this could be a problem. As im over hear in australia these jeep and ford axles may be hard to come by. Thanks for the replies so far

Ok without going into it the best option for fixxing my 91 pathy is a SAS. I did try and do a search on here but couldnt find much i wanted.
I have no knowledge so i will be paying for someone to do it all. So what i mainly want to know is what would be the best axle to swap it with??

ok took it into a suspension place today and EVERY bushing is shot. but thats not the bad news my frount diff support bar it broken and that will cost $1400 just for the part. all my suspension is rooted including torsion bar.
All up the damadge report is just over $4000
So i am gonna have to sell her off for parts and get another truck.
This time i aint getting a bloody import
-
yeah but if i take off the sway bar and have a crash my insurance wont cover me
-
yeah i might just have to order a set from the states
-
im in australia and we dont have any of those stores lol
-
got the bushings today but couldnt get any high tensional bolts in the right size or the special washers
-
so you just got the bolts from the hardware store. Are they strong enough???
-
well obivosly there is some other damage then becuase the handling fells SOFT and the tires arnt strait.
the tie rod doesnt seem bent though
-
ok here is what i have managed to break
The bolt u see should be extended to where i have drawn it in (but as you can see i snapped it). And it should pull the centrelink down.
Would this cause the tire to be slightly pigieon toed
-
this is the broken bolt
-
did some heavy 4x4ing on the weekend and heard a creak in the frount end. Got out and had a look for posible broken tie rod. All was good so i got back in the car. On the way home i took a corner to quick and heard a snap. Got out and i saw the right hand tire on a mega lean. But to my suprise it wasnt the tie rod but the bolt that conects the centre link to main suspension thingy had been sheared(technical term). Will all i need be a new bolt and all the bushes.
Is it worth taking it into a suspension shop as all my other bushes are shot anyways. Get them to do it all at once

western australia.
rockingham. 1 hr south of perth

ok have saved up a fair bit of $$$$ but dont know how to spend it.
I have got $1700 AU and heres what im thinking of getting.
First of all my frount suspension is shot. i mean really shot. i cant even go over a speed hump without the tyres rubbing.
so i have been thinking about either
1. getting a locker installed then a 2 inch body lift so that the tyres dont rub till i can afford better shocks cost $1700
2. getting some long travel ranchos and putting in a intercoller $1500
3. getting some cheap frount shocks and doing the intercooler and a few other things like tinting the car and stuff
what do you reckon would be my best option
-
yeah maybe in the future IS will be beter but right now way to many problems occur because of it.
ANd no-body has said after how much boddy lift u have to replace the steering shaft
-
Man i knew that the nissans frount end suck and all but now i really hate them for it.
After reading this topic i am serisosly considering selling my truck and getting a car with a Solid axle there is just far to much money involved lifting these damn things. I would mind so much if i lived in the states then i would have access to all the after market parts but living in Australia the price with shipping and all blows way out of my budget.
After how much body lift do you have to adjust your steering shaft.
I was about to buy some 2ich blocks this weekend but if i have to adjust the steering i might just pay for someone to do it

Ok took the car in to get the SAS done. Then i get a call the next day saying that i cant be fixed.
And the reason for that is the chasis is snaped in half. They couldnt belive that
1. It didnt fall appart from me driving it
and 2. pedders never picked it up when they did thier report.
So now that is it. No more can be done for her. I now have to try and ring my insurance company and see if i can make a claim
