  1. lol, most of the places i used to go are now all blocked off...

Cranberry lake(I think thats it) there at Deception is great Flyfishing that time of year. I would not recommend anything along the I-5 corridor... little farther east or west... 7 lakes area south of Arlington, Nothing in Bothell, Woodinville or Bellevue for that matter... The Park there in Issaquah on the south end of Lake Sammamish used to have some places... Farther east on I-90.

Camp at the Relatives and sight see from there.... Take the Subaru... 30mpg vs 20 if your lucky...

  2. Nice pics... I would have hit that hole as well... clean the mud off, fix it and head back out to beat that little mud pit....

I hit something similar in the 95... did not make it... went back later that evening in the 91 just to beat it...

  3. Pull the fan shroud... run it

Take the fan itself off.... run it(I had a clutch fan bearing go, made it wobble just the slightest)

then one belt at a time....

Almost sounds like a timing cover screw hitting the Harmonic balancer.... Then again im told im deaf half the time... oh wait thats from my wife...

  4. Just the "Hi/Low square lug broke off??? if so, pulling the tube will not get you access to it... Pulling the tube if like 4" broke off would work... but if its just the lug at the end... its what 1.5 inches long?? The Enginerd with the magnet will get you a better shot at finding it.... short of dropping the pan... again...

  5. Is it possible the stud that the tensioner rides on got bent somehow during the second disassembly? Or that the idler bearing is shot? That would certainly explain why the belt walks when the tensioner is up against it. Totally frustrating I know, but try to slow down and don't assume anything is correct until you check it. You'll find the problem.

I'm guessing the parts store prolly gave them a 2WD H2O pump the first time, IIRC they stick out further.

The 2wd pump will fit the block and accessories... it wont fit the timing cover... you would have to use a 2wd timing cover(Max vg30e) My 91 is running a 2wd pump and the timing covers that came with the motor... my oil pump did not have the bolt hole for the bottom timing cover bolt....
