  1. Wooo Hooo!

Just cleared out the garage & pulled the freshly washed Pathy in. Getting ready to start the body lift & hopefully finish tonight if not Sun. Sat is out for St. Patty's Day. If bl done by Sunday night, exhaust & hearders starting Mon morning. Keep everyone posted & will take pics & post once I get that figured out.

Thanks & wish me luck! Happy St. Patty's Day to all!

  2. Oh believe me! Do I know about backspacing.....

Went to swap the aftermarket rims & new tires I just got for my Pathy & put them on my wife's X. Barely turn the wheels & they r rubbing. Wouldn't be bad if the X was lifted. Tires are 31x10.5x15's, but the backspacing is less. Oh well. Time to do some more looking.

  3. Ok,

Sorry to bother everyone with this, but have a quick question....Looking into getting some new/used tires to get by for now...Saving money. I can get a set of 4 tires & 6 bolt wheels for $400.00

The tires are BF MT's 245 70R 17's. I put that size in a conversion chart & it came out to be equivilant to 30.5" or I'm guessing they round up to 31"? Correct me if I'm wrong. Would these fit as if we were putting on 31's? Either putting them on my lifted Pathy or the wife's Xterra. The X is not lifted yet.

Thanks for all your help & info!

  4. OOOOOk all of you guru's & those that have X's & have lifted them.....

I've seen JEEP's convert the under axle leafs to over the axle...Gives ya lift & also eliminates the leafs getting hung up & the axle housing to slide over things. Has anyone done this with an X? I was thinking about having it done to my wife's X. She want's it lifted & 31's or maybe 33's if possible. MAN I LOVE HER FOR THAT! :sly:

  5. I'm thinking the only thing I'm scared of is the bolts busting. I'm goingto take the Pathy to a care wash & powerwash the whole vehicle & get in & around the headers to get them cleaned out & also under the body to the body bolts tomorrow. Gunna start spraying the bolts to everything with PB Blaster for the next couple weeks. I hope all goes well & can get those two things done.....also need to put both new high quality professional grade upper ball joints in & try & replace the CV boots if I can get the extra help to get everything done. Too much shiznit to do & not enough time.

Time to read up on the BL that came with the kit & read up on what others have ran across also.

Thanks again everyone for all the great info.

  6. Thanks for the heads up....I was thinking the O2 sensor went into the header. Glad I haven't drilled it for a begger hole. Time to do some major planning to get things straight. Need to get this done ASAP & hopefully easy. I know taking things apart & especially the manifold bolts will be a pain. Thanks again.

  7. I'll do some looking for the write ups tomorrow after work. I'm using PaceSetter Headers. The Pathy has a 3" CALMINI suspension lift. Will be doing a 3" body lift also, once I have some help with it. Once I get the body lift done, then I'll need to take it in & have a shop tuck the exhaust up more.

I really appreciate all the info everyone is giving.

    I'll keep ya posted.

  8. I'm debating on using the can muffler I have(save money) or buy a muffler for a little more thunder? I've purchased a "Thrust" muffler from Advanced Auto Parts in the past for a Ford Ranger I had. Sounded pretty good. Cheap also. I guess my biggest thing would be getting the hangers & things like that to match up with factory spots. I noticed the Oxygen sensor probe is larger then the hole in the headers, so I'll need to carefully drill the hole a little bigger for the probe to slide in so I can thread the sensor in....

  9. my first time doing exhaust.....Just going to take off exisiting exhaust & manifolds. Put Pacesetter headers on & go from there. Can I just order original parts from Rock Auto & piece together? Just trying to save on paying a shop to do it. Tight budget right now. If I can't just order parts, what do you recommend? Thanks for all your help!

  10. I"m taking the 15th of March thru the 25th off from work. Kids will be with the Ex. Gunna try and tackle the headers & exhaust for starters. I have a whole laundry list of things I want to try & get done to the Pathy while I have no kid distractions. I REALLY hope I can get this done in a week. Any voluteers will be welcomed.

Did I mention my wife is a chef? We'd grill & feed ya awesome food. :sssh: I haven't mentioned that part to her yet.

Will take pics & keep everyone posted.

    Thanks all!

  11. OK,

I'm @ the point of beating this Pathy!

I've been trying & trying to get this darn O2 sensor broke loose so I can replace it. Can't get it to budge. I've prayed it time after time & went out & bought 2 different slotted sockets for it & nothing. I really don't want to pay big bucks for someone to do this, if I can get it done myself. Do I need to take the cross member off to be able to get more movement with the torque wrench? I'm getting irritated with it all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  12. Mine has started to do that also. My ECT switch is off, fluid is pinkish also, but just a tad over the full line when cold. Too much fluid cause this delay in shifting? I have a new tranny & radiator on my rotting Pathy that I'm planning on taking out & putting on this one, but until then, was thinking about draining & replacing filter & trying a tranny additive.....

    Any thoughts?

  13. Okay,

I just got my Rotting Pathy @ my place in the garage today. Time to strip what I want & let others know it is ready for parts selling. Think I already have a guy buying the whole interior(gray) so he can get rid of his red ugly interior. Will post in the "For Sale" forum once I get a few things done.

    Happy Holidays to Everyone! :friday::beer:

  14. I really like the ride, but any lift can be bouncy & kind of rough if you index the torsion bars too much. U just need to make sure the front is as close to what the rear is lifted. To be honest, I kinda wish I would've listened to more people about saving the money & going with a cheaper lift. Even though, I bought this lift years ago when it was $750, now $950. Some of that money could've went towards other things. All you need is UCA's & rear springs. Keep your original torsion bars. They can be reindexed. New shocks & you are set. Good luck!

  15. :(

Well, my 1st '94 Pathy is getting parted out. Once I get it to my place, I'm stripping things off & selling other parts cheap before I send it to the scrap yard. Frame is completely rusted & not fixable. Body is solid & straight. Shiznit Happens & we move on I guess. At least I have my other Pathy. Will post the sale of parts once I get the parts I want to keep & squared away.

  16. Crunched on time, so I didn't get the upper ball joints on, but that's nothing. I did get the bushings in & everything reconnected. I have the front about a 1/2" higher & gunna give it some time to see if it settles at all. If not, lower it 1/2". I did get the alignment done & all new tires & matching spare. I ended up getting Bridgestone Dueler A/T's. For an alterain tire, they are kinda aggressive tread. Figured, I still have my swampers if I need to hit the really muddy areas. Pics to come.

  17. I agree. Smart for business on their end, but not for the consumer. Not saying CALMINI isn't worth the money. I'm happy with the lift, but also, it's the only lift I've ever delt with. Now, I need to figure out this new camera & get the pics transferred over to the computer & onto the site. I'm really happy about the prerunner bar, bumpers, & grille. I painted them with bedliner. Will try & get pics up this weekend.

    Peace!

  18. Ok,

If this ever happens to any others, the trick is to have bushings, ball joints, ect. done before you reindex your torsion bars. I had to loosen the torsion bars for the tension on the lower control arm to give so it would roll up for the upper ball joint & upper control arm to meet. If you don't want to do that, you can disconnect the tie-rod & sway bar to take tension off the side you are working on also. So, I did get everything back together & did lower the tension on the torsion bars so now I'm only 1/2" higher in the front. Going to give it a few days & see if the front gives & lowers a little before I even the front out with the rear.

    Peace!

  19. :wtf: I think I'm gunna have to lower them. Here's my issue now.....Put new bushings in the UCA's & the passengers side went together just fine, but the driver's side spindle assembly isn't rolling up to connect the ball joint to the UCA. I notice the outer half shaft boot is split. Could've the half shaft slipped out of place? I MUST get this fixed by tonight. Please Help!
