    20 mpg in a 4x4 Pathy?

    ...i get mixed up here, reading... there is a difference between automatic and manual transmissions... auto will go 2500rpm ( with over drive )at 100km and manual will go, in 5th for 91 to 95 models up to 3000 rpm (there is no over drive )...i do not know for later models, but it seems to me that it is an important factor on a long run... not to mention the difference between american gallons and canadian gallon...

     

    ... just to mention by analogy, i use to work on ships...one of them was built in two different places... so that ship ended up with a bow built on american standards (imperial mesures) and the rest of the ship, with canadian standards (metric mesures)...the ship had to be "ajusted"...just about 3 inches... to be completed...imagine the calculation of its "displacement" in water... loaded or unloaded in salt water or in soft water ? they should have built a bathtube...just for exercise...

     

    ...Acuracy in science remains as long as we can define the parameters...and the same for everyone...meanwhile...

    but the word "truck" in russian is not a jeep or something, its a huge truck such as KAMAZ. TATRA or etc.

    we usually say "джип" (jeep) and the pilot called "джиппеÑ€", and all the activity called "джиппинг" - jepping.

    jeep here not a label of a car but all cars for offroad call jeep in russia )

     

    thank you for the info...but i still cannot pronounce it though !! :scratchhead:

     

    i do not know why but replying ruins the russian terms, as if it does not take the typo in account :shrug:

    ...i used a translator to say '' nice truck !!'' translate in just about any langage...and i verifie to retranslate to make sure i don't say anything that would not make sense... :D

    I wonder exactly how much of the Patrol is underneath that thing. How can it still have the stock IFS up front AND be 4x4?

    i'm gonna have to listen to that one b/c i am the black sheep...and my family refers to me openly as the black sheep...

    ..so many black sheeps in this world...it is a wonder if there is any other ''kind''...of sheep... we are always black sheep to someone and the opposite (what color is it ?) of someone else... Probably we were brought up with that prehistoric reasoning... :crazy: so be it ...i am that kind and proud of it...

    Impressive,yes... they might be only six cylinders...but they sure got power...it seems Navaras ( Frontier ?) are the only Bajas model used...with the Titans...you will see more videos of them here too :aok:

    She Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :itsallgood:

     

    My bro and I put everything back on. It was weird a lot of stuff was missing off my Pathy. First off there was no bolt securing the cap and rotor shaft. So I went to the junk yard and pulled one off a Maxima V6 engine that looked the same. I walked up to the pay counter and the lady laughed and said its okay take it. So I was happy, made my day.

     

    My bro helped me out and we pulled off the front end of the engine and replaced the belt. The marks aligned perfect without counting and all so I was amazed. I bought one of those Electronic Pathfinder Manual 1994-1995 CDs, it’s decent, but you got to study it a little.

    Well we cleaned everything and put it all back on this weekend. I was shocked when we turned the key and she ran. I was hiding behind the passenger door just as a precaution. :suicide:

     

    She still has a slight tick on the passenger side but I think it’s the exhaust manifold problem. I’m not use to the engine anymore because I’ve been borrowing my moms extra car which is an older 89''300E class its hella quiet compared to our Pathys. But I’m happy that she’s back on the road and purring like a kat. I bought some Marvel Magic Mystery oil today and gave her some medicine. I filled her up with some nice gas and tomorrow I will give her a nice bath and some wax. My Pathy, not my GF. Okay boys I think I’m leaving some stuff out but the important part is she’s running Everything else is small now just some bolts here and there to replace and some new fluids and such and she’s gonna be fine.

     

    I think the CAR GODS are telling me to get on top of my cars service schedule. So after I do the sign of the Nissan and kiss the engine, I’m going to refer to my Nissan Electronic Service Manual and think/pray on it a little and plan out the next mods and such. I'm thinking Transmission cooler replacement. I saw a post about using a Ford Ranger transmission cooler somewhere here.

    Well, the GF came home from shopping yesterday and says "Look what I got you! Now you can make the burgers even better. Didn't they say in the burger thread that cast iron is better to cook with??"

    ...very good idea...you won't have to take iron pills anymore...a study was made on levels of iron in the body the last few years stipulating that iron levels were lower in our body because of cast iron pots and pans were put aside from the kitchen...

     

    i use one, and i never use detergent to wash it... i put water to boil in it and i scrub it with steel wool , rince under hot water, dry it and always coat it with oil before putting away... never rusted since...
