  1. I adopted this boy a few months ago. He loves car rides. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3143...amp;id=54200167
  2. Go the homemade route, but don't skimp on the filter. I put one on my BMW with an Amsoil Filter and a Hydrowrap and haven't had any issues with water to date. The filter can be washed out in the sink and doesn't require a recharge kit like a K&N. The key to efficiency is either placing it where it will get cool air flow or building a custom heat shield.
  3. Hmm, interesting. The woman I bought it from said it was purchased to fit an 89 Hard body or Pathfinder. Anyone in Central Pa wanna come try to fit it?
  4. So watching craigslist I found a set of new Hobrecht Nerf bars at a good price so I jumped on them... Get em home and realize they really don't fit. I'm trying to figure out what they are supposed to fit so I can get them to someone who may use them, and hopefully get my money out of it, but all I can find on the bars is a stamp 1807P 04M94. Anyone had a similar issue in the past or know where to find a fitment for this piece? Google is of no help this time.. Any help is appreciated. Picture:
  5. Pep boys carries universal filter kits that include the filter and gasket for $35... I don't remember the brand though
  6. Maybe I will try putting that switch in before messing with the wiring then. The color is slowly growing on me, my last one (an 89 2 door XE) was black but I got a good deal on this so I couldn't pass it up. BTW I had to purchase some DIY stuff for the tranny job, so if anyone needs any info just shoot me an email.
  7. Right low beam doesn't work, left high beam doesn't work. The guy did give a new switch with the truck but it looks like someone did a home wiring job at the headlight so I kind of assumed that was the issue. Are these typical symptoms of the switch being bad?
  8. Thanks for the welcome guys. The new, well old but functional (I hope), tranny is bolted up... just need to put the rest of everything back in and install the trans cooler. The guy I bought the truck from had already purchased a small SUV sized cooler so that's what's going in. Once that job is done I just need to fix some headlight wiring issue and clean up the rust. I did discover some through-the-body holes under the rear seat that need fixed though :-(
  9. Thanks for the advice guys, I ended up getting a junkyard tranny - $200. Lets just hope it works once I get it in the beast...
  10. I recently picked up a 91 Pathfinder SE, fully loaded (as far as I can tell) with new BFGoodies, a dysfunctional transmission, minimal frame rust, worn brakes, and a touch of rust by the rear doors. Overall the truck is in great shape. Right now it is on jackstands in the garage getting ready for a new transmission. Here are some pictures... Once the trans is replaced I plan to cleanse the machine of rust and respray the underbody, fix the rust by the doors (if I can figure out where to get such ugly touch up paint?), and get a bumper guard... Any suggestions where to find a good looking cheap brush guard, touch up paint, or cheap rotors/pads are welcome. Thanks! Dustin
  11. Thanks for the advice Precise1, I went and looked at the parts truck and decided it wasn't worth the investment. I actually don't think we would have been able to tow it home, I stuck my hand through the frame it was so rusted. I guess I'll be scavenging junk yards for the next few weeks...
  12. Ok, so I'm new to the Pathy world.... well I had an 89 back in the day but I'm new to the forum and yes... I tried the search feature. I just picked up a 91 SE with a broken auto trans, I found a cheap 3-speed auto trans that is "rebuilt" - cheap being about $100 but I also found a 93 XE with an auto and 113k and a rusted frame (new tires and brakes though, runs good) for $750. From my searching I believe either trans will fit, but what will be the mpg impact of not having the OD on the highway?? How much are these engines worth in good running condition??.. if I can recoup some of my money it might be worth having the parts car around. Thanks for any help in advance! Once I get the pathy cleaned up I'll snap some pics and post in the new member area.
