  1. With zero towing experience you may want to reconsider if it's a long haul. With that amount of weight even with trailer brakes, to keep from being pushed you may want an weight distributing hitch too-depends on the total weight.

The car also needs to be positioned on the trailer so its balanced correctly (too much tongue weigh vs. not enough).

  2. My sister's 2002 Pathfinder will smoke badly one day and then not smoke at all for 2-3 days. Then go back to smoking so bad it fills up our garage with smoke in a matter of seconds. Local shops can't get it to smoke for them even if they leave the truck idling.

    Where is it smoking from?

    Tail pipe or engine bay?

Black smoke, blue smoke, white smoke?

Any oil drips, hose leaks that you know of?

  3. Like Simon said, that will only work for awhile. The first time mine went I got about 2 weeks of banging it. The second time the starter went I got a less than a day on it, about 4-5 starts.

  4. I know you've checked the fuses a few times, but actually*replace* the fuse that is for your tail lights with a new one because the dash and tail lights are on the same fuse. That will 100% rule out the fuse if the problem is still there unless the fuse blades aren't making a good contact because of a previous owner wiring project.

  5. Hey Mookie, the NA4WDA's got a trip there this weekend. Just SW of Rocky in the Prairie Creek area. I'll post some pics etc after the trip. PM me if you want some more info or our trip list (member's only our forum) as the club goes there quite regularly. Anyway, now I'm VP Offroad for the club, planning trips etc, its good that we got a Pathy on the exec and not another jeep!

I'd still encourage all those Edmonton Pathfinder folks to come along to our wings night at Montana's by Ikea every Wednesday night at 7:00pm. nd join up and come out and play with us. I don't like being the only Nissan!

Check out http://www.na4wda.org for our site and forums. A lot of the stuff is members only though, so as not to get too much tree-hugger attention.

    Cheers

Mark (a.k.a. nissan man on NA4WDA forum)

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for the info! A trip list would be great. I'll check the website out.
