  1. Those US wheels should fit. Ive been told as long as the backspacing is about 4", but 3.75 should be good. mine have 4" and I've got lots of clearance from the strut. One thing you should be careful of is the opening for the center bore. pathfinders need 100mm. Other than that good luck finding some wheels

  2. hey everyone, went to go change my oil the other day and noticed that nissan gave me a different oil filter then what was put on last time they changed the oil. The filter they put on has a part # 15208-65FOO. But the one the parts guy gave me at the same nissan dealership is 15208-65FOA. Anyone know if theres any difference? The filter fit on the thread fine. And the label on the box had the vq35de motor on it but not for the pathfinders???

    thanks for any advice.

  3. I also did what FUELER did, molded the plastic a bit with the heat gun. I also removed the screws that hold the plastic from the bottom and screwed the plastic closer towards the front of the vehicle. Then I had to trim off some of the fascia, just used side cutters.

  4. The real pain of the entire deal is, that the shop did a horrible job bending the duals out (they bang into the bump stop and the floor of the rig), welds are pretty sloppy looking, and the knocked my Nissan the whole time it was in the air---go figure the owner just bought an '06 Ford Crewcab diesel and his boy drives a 95 Blazer---I want to go back and challenge his boy to a tow off, then a race, then mark when the Blazer blows up due to that intake pre-injector that will leak, fail, water down the oil and seize his main bearings at 100K...while the Path will push 200K without catestrophic failure....phunk those guys.

Damn right. Its all about the pathys.

  5. Ditto on that spot. The rust on the connecting bracket flaked away like a pastry. I had mine off for a while and people could not even hear a difference. I thought it sound a bit thoatier, but maybe it was just me. You don't need the post muffler for inspections?

Same, when mine feel off I thought it sounded a bit throatier. You do need the post muffler for inspections though, cause they won't have any where to stick the emissions probe in the tailpipe, and they ain't gonna crawl under the truck to put it in the main mufflers pipe. But I guess it also depends on where you live. some places are more strict on emissions then others.

  6. Mine has recently broken off at that same spot, dangling from the hangars. I just removed it and it's been riding in the back since... I'd rather not spend anything to get it fixed, would the exhaust exiting under the vehicle promote rust/corrosion?

It might, thats why I did't take any chances. But If you cut the pipe so it's angled like navygz19 did you should be ok

  7. yep, that's the same TB that I have XPLORx4. So is that TB a drive-by wire? I'm not quite sure if I'm sure how else to tell, or the difference.

Then no you don't have the drive by wire system. Then only reason you have to be careful with those TB is because the sensors in them are sensitive and you could throw off your idle, thats what ended up happening to me. But you should be good.

  8. Same thing happened to my 02's while in the mountains and I ended up saw-zalling it off right before where it goes over the axle...that was about 7 months ago and I have no plans of putting another back on again. The exhausts on R50's are pathetic!

Ya, I was just gonna rip the whole thing off. So, navygz19, you just ended up cutting a section of the pipe off and leaving the rest?

    thanks

  9. Stopped by Dorschel yesterday to pick up some parts, and the parts guy asked me if I knew about the recall....I went and set up an appointment...October 3rd. :) They're also doing my seatbelts.

thats funny. I asked my local nissan dealership about it and the guy didn't have a clue what I was talking about

  10. By the way, what should I look out for when cleaning the TB Nissan3? I think I do have the drive by wire system. The throttle body has a sealed cap over the throttle.

Are you sure you have the drive by wire? Are there two cables going to the TB connecting to a butterfly valve? what does this seal cap look like? could you post a pic

  11. I replaced the diff fluid on my 03 pathy about 4 months ago/8000 km. I went to nissan to get all my fluids, they parts guy gave me 75w-85 MTF and a bottle of AC delco LSD additive for my LSD. Just wondering is this ok to use? I know the manual says 80w-90 for both diffs. any input would be appreciated.

  12. does it make the noise when you go over a bump straight or when your turning the wheel or on uneven pavement, i just noticed that when cold if I pull my wheel both directions enough to rock the truck i get a light "clunk" i guess out of what sounds like the strut area, wondering if maybe its the mount or something needing to be replaced or maybe my struts just dead? doesnt feel excessively bouncy in the front though.

The clunk on mine is weird, it almost always happens when I first start it in the morning. while driving get a clunk when exiting driveways while turning, but it sounds and feels like sway bar bushings. I thought it might have been something in the strut assembly as well. And if ur struts were done, they would have either leaked or u would have felt them bounce.

  13. Hey guys....I am back in an R50! I bought an 02 Chrome Silver SE. It has 44K miles on it basic interior and no sunroof : (----The interior is the black cloth, which I am very much in love with. The truck came from auction in Manheim PA, before that I don't know as I have not pulled the Carfax on it. The truck had previously been painted in the rear drivers side QP and front fender--neither piece had been replaced so damage must have been minimal....the fender is perfect the QP is good to normal people buuuuut I am abnormal so I am planning on having it touched up.

The rig has already had its intakes taken off and all of my 12 power-valve screws were there!!! :tonguefinger: 4 of the 12 were loose, as in turned immediately with a screw driver...the others required good concentrated effort to remove without stripping out the phillips pattern. I will post pics later of the manifolds, probably in the pinned section. The screws seemed to have some type of rubber(y) thread lockers on them, but with the amount of oil the PCV system allows through the intakes that rubber could be no match!

I have not had too much fun in the truck yet as I have spent every day off changing fluids and filters. I was disappionted that my local Advance did not carry Iridiums for the truck so no plug change yet. I did already bypass the throttle body coolant lines, this added no extra ponies that I can tell, however there is no loss of power once the truck is warmed up.

Other than that, man does this thing scoot!

..................XPLOx4 you were almost predicting the future a couple of posts back when you said I needed another 98 silver pathfinder to preserve my screen name, lol I end up with an 02 silver path! I did not plan it, but it was the best rig for the buck in the auction, which turned out to be the lowest priced rig at the auction for several weeks!!! (that wasn't banged up or rode hard.....)

hey man, when you took the intakeoff did you replace the gaskets or reuse the old ones?

    congrats again.

  14. Hello!

I haven't had my propeller shaft greased for just about 7,000 miles now and was wondering what GREASE people here have used. Does Nissan have any special grease? Also, has anyone had to install the grease nipples themselves or were they already on the drive shaft?

Here is a diagram of it:

    104418209.gif

My 03 R50 already had the grease nipple on it, i've only done it once since i had my truck, only put 10000km on it though. I think its only important to do it if the underbody has been secluded in water

  15. Recently I've had some problems with the alignment on the car. It seems something hit the subframe and shifted it therefore throwing out the alignment. That has since been fixed however I find the steering wheel is rather loose and any bump or imperfection in the road causes the steering wheel to shake pretty badly. I also notice whenever I come to a stop something seems to moving when it shouldn't be beneath my feet. The best way to describe it is it feels like something in the steering or suspension is moving when it shouldn't be and it's coming from what feels like directly underneath the pedals.

Anyway before I drop it at the Nissan dealer I would like to know if there are any suggestions on what the problem might be or what to check for. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The car in question is an 04 Pathfinder LE 4WD with approximately 36K.

If you're feeling like theres something banging at your feet and you hear a clunk its probably the sway bar needing new bushings.
