  1. well i fixed the problem, no thanks to the guy who owned it before me. for some ungodly reason, he took the bleeder line out and just put a straight hose on it. i replaced the bleeder, bled the lines, and she is running fine. thanks for the help guys.
  2. I live in upstate NY, and its pretty cold here, so every morning, i go out and start my pathy about ten minutes before i leave. the other day, i went back out to find her pretty hot. i opened the hood and found the lower radiator hose leaking. OK, no problem, so i fixed that, but it still overheats. I think it might be airlocked, but i don't know where the bleeder is, but it might also be the thermostat. Anyone else had this problem? BTW, my pathy is an 87' SE V-6. Thanks a bunch in advance.
  3. they are 31X10R15's. i'm not sure what brand, i could have told you yesterday, but i have forgotten now. when i was at the shop, i stood them up next to 2 different 31's, and they were way bigger both times. if they do rub, i'll crank the t-bars up till i get the lift.
  4. i don't have my lift yet, but my dad just baught me some really big 31's. they measure to 32's. will they fit my stock pathy? i am planning the lift for soon, but i don't know when i will get to it, but i have the tires now??? help please...
  5. i'm afraid that, because i'm only mounting 31's, that if i put a 3" lift on her, she will look funny, and have too much space between the tire and the wheel well......what do you guys think?
  6. thank you very much guys, for all your help. i have decided to go with 31's. 10" wide on 10" wide rims with 3.5" backspacing, and i think a 2" body lift. anyone see any problems with this?
  7. if the second number of a tire size is its width, and the second number of a rim size is its width, how do 11.5" wide tire go on 8" wide rims. i am obviously not getting something, lol.
  8. is 3.5" backspacing too little? it seems pretty small to me?
  9. 15x10" 6 on 5.5" w/3.5" backspacing rims..... will work with a 32X10X15 tire???? thats the closest to 4" that 4wheelparts.com sells in 6 lug. is that the right lug pattern, 6 on 5.5?
  10. here it is quick and easy. i am going to put a 3" body lift on my 87' pathy. i want to put the biggest, widest, stick-out-the-furthest-without-me-dieing tires i can on it. i'm going to buy 15" RC rims. after that, i am at a loss, someone please be kind enuff to lay it out for me, i just spent about an hour and a half searching, and got no where. after i figure this out, no more dumb questions, i promise. this is what i need- 1. rim size i should buy, i know 15's, but after that... 2. 32X??????X15...and why is it so hard to find 32's? 3. backspacing.....??? i think thats it...thanks a lot guys
  11. thats the part i did get, though it really doesn't make sense, still. but what is the difference. the way i see it, i don't really have a choice, unless i see it wrong, which is, i think, the case...
  12. to be completely honest, i'm not too sure what backspacing really even is, or what the difference is between neutral backspacing or anything else. i searched, and only found 2 threads dealing with backspacing, this was one, and the other didn't help at all. thanks...
  13. thanks so much for your patience guys, i have just ONE more question. an 87" with a 3 inch body lift, and 32 X 10 or 10.5's........what kinda backspacing should i be looking at?
  14. so, if i were to just body lift it 3", i could fit 32's no problem???? also, is there any point in the dual-shock kits i've seen? and what kind of shocks could i get for relatively cheap, i was thinking about ranchos, how are they?
  15. if i were to only put a 3" body lift on my pathy, what would be the best size tires i could fit? 32's maybe? i don't think i can afford the calmini kit for the front right now. is there any other way to lift the front? i know that you can just crank the t-bars and get an alingment, but isn't that really bad for them? they are the original t-bars from 87', so i don't know if they'd hold up. any input would be great. i searched and couldn't find any direct answers to this. thanks in advance!!
  16. well, i need new shocks anyway, seeing as the ones i have are about toast. so i might as well get some Ranchos, and i might as well get some longer ones. i have tried the search feature, and can't find a whole lot on upper control arms, the advantages of new ones, and the extent of the PITA factor?
  17. i know i'm kindof a pain, but i don't know much about it, and will probably be asking some questions most of you think are common knowledge. please bare with me. how much of a pain in the neck are putting in new UCA's and how much do they run, and where can i get some. also, do i need to get new, longer shocks if i put a 3" body lift on, as well as JGC coils in the rear, and UCA's in the front?
  18. thank you very much, and sorry for posting twice. i am new to the whole forum experience. i love this site and the atmosphere it provides. the pictures ain't bad either, lol. how wide should i go with my tires? and could i put 32" tires on without the torsion bar being adjusted?
  19. alright, i just got my 87' XE-V6 5 speed. she is completely stock. i have a couple questions about lifting her. do the Jeep Grand Cherokee springs work on both the front and the back? if so, how much lift will i get? can i use the JGC springs with a 3" body lift? if i do both, do i need new, longer shocks? if i do both, what size tires would fit well? what width tires should i get? i plan on buying new rims too. should i stick with 15" rims, or go to 16 or 17" rims? does anyone know where i can get a cheap roof rack? any comments on mounting the spare on the roofrack, such as pros and cons, would be appreciated. i know theres more questions i would like to ask, but i can't think of them at the moment. thanks a lot guys, for all your help, anything you could give me would be great! also, anyone got any suggestions for some minor performance upgrades?

  21. lol, thats funny, right now its stock, but i have no intentions of keeping it that way!
  22. i haven't done anything yet, i just got it, i will try that, and then get back to you, i have to do a tune-up anyway thanks, keep em' comin'!
  23. my 87' bogs down and hesitates when i step on it. i could be going down the road just fine, and then step on it, and she hesitates. hesitates is prolly the wrong word, she really doesn;t seem to like it, she loses a lot of power. it doesn't really seem to matter what my RPM are. please help thanks!!!
