Pavelow Leaks
I'm lost, but I refuse to take it in! It's not the relay, its not the compressor (checked properly) the lines are cold all the way to the firewall. My chiltons is no help because it barely talks about the automatic climate control system, which unfortunately I have. There are no levers & whatnot behind the control unit, just wires...that go to a motor that works the various doors. They all seem to be working properly (they move when you push the various buttons. The only thing I can narrow down is nothing happens when you move the temp controller, its hot...like dragon breathing on you hot all the time, no matter where you put it. I know someone can point me in the right direction and gimme an idea what to check..so help me out!
RedPath88
If nothing seems to be happening when you move the temp control, then I would say you need to investigate that. perhaps the linkages have slipped off, jammed of simply broke. So the automatic controls are electric? Ok, I would have expected them to be vacuum operated. Check the elect connections & wires from end to end, check to see if there is a signal passing across the wires as well. If the connections are good and the elect signal is being delivered to the motor, then it's time to test the that.
Guest SuperSon
does that have one of those sensor that sits atop the dashboard so it detects the temp? You might wanna check that. I know on my supra that went out and Im getting the same symptoms you have. If its on the main switch panel then I can almost guarantee you its the switch panel Edited April 20, 2007 by SuperSon
Pavelow Leaks
Well, I found the culprit...a lil plastic linkage to the air mix door was broken. Of course it woul be the most pain in the ass one to see & get to, but I got it fixed, well..I have A/C. I just have to flip it back manually when it starts getting cold out again. Seems the damn gremlins in my new house have been goin to town on the pathy. Superson, the sensor is in the control unit, it works, I just cant adjust the temp anymore since the lil plastic pile of crap link broke and I have to use my finger to switch it, it's either ice cold or real hot.
