Clunking noise

So, ever since I got the rock sliderz installed, I have this clunking noise underneath the truck. You can hear it from the outside and inside. You can also feel it while you are inside. Of course, the one time that I bring it in it doesn't clunk.

 

Any ideas what it could be? The engine mounts look ok, but maybe the trans is moving, or maybe something is hitting the torsion bars?

 

On a different note, I got my relocation kit with a bypass filter too. It's freakin huge. I'm hoping that I can mount it. Much bigger than I thought.

 

The BP filter is 6 inches long and ridiculously fat and the full flow filter is 7 inches long, but not quite as thick.

lay under your pathy n give the tranny a good shove and see if it moves... check obstructions to the t bars, and tires, and any other susp parts as well.

check bushings and torque on all and any bolts in the susp.. i had a clunking and it was a bolt i hadn't torqued down to spec

I checked yesterday, but it was after I drove it and it was hot as hell, not to mention that the damn ground was really hot also. I cound't find anything loose, but I'm thinking it's the torion bars moving. I have it back at the shop today. They are installing the bypass filter and relocation kit plus electric fan. I was thinking about having the put a new cap and rotor in cause it sounds like I have a misfire.

 

That can wait till I get back.

Technically speaking, torsion bars should not move. They should twist, but not in any other way move.

 

Check your rear swaybar endlinks if you still have it on. Check your shock mounting points and the panhard rod link ends. That's a basic starter list...
