Oil Pressure, and Coolant temp.

I just bought a combo guage.

It has oil pressure, volts, and temp.

I've searched the forums and found that the oil pressure sending unit is by the oil filter. The one I bought has a tube that carries oil to the pressure gauge. Is this the right one?

Also where the heck is the original water/coolant temp sensor, and when I hook up my new one will the stock one not work anymore?

I was considering using the water temp guage as a tranny temp guage... Will that work? I already have the crapola water temp on the dash so I could leave that alone and just use the new one for tranny temp right?

To properly install the temp gauge, you should tap into the AT oil pan. That will give you nice readings, and won't have any effect on the fluid flow. You can always tap into the hoses that run to the cooler, but make sure the fittings you use won't restrict the flow.

 

The oil pressure is not too hard. You have to put in a t-splitter to feed of where the sender unit is, but remember to run a section of a flex hose off the block first, then put the t-with the stock sender unit and the sender to your gauge.
