starter rebuild

:help: does anyone know if there is a rebuild kit available for a starter for a 91 pathy with a v6 ,i've tried the relay trick and i still get a click, i already got the starter out(what a bitch that was) :furious: and its sitting on my work bench waiting for me to open it up, which i'm gonna do tonite .

Why do you want to rebuild a starter? Out of amusement? Can't get a new or refurbed one?

usualy rebuilds are alot cheeper than a reman. A FSM definately helps. It just depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.

just asked my buddies at the dealership, there is not a specific rebuild kit that they make for the starter, but if you tear it open and see whats worn, you can get the individual parts. BTW, our starter are pretty cool, they have a planetary gear system. Cool beans.

thanks for getting back to me on that . i ended up just getting a reman starter at napa ,got it in and everything works fine now.
