Parking Brake Relocation

Recommended Posts

I noticed at a traffic light the other day that my Pathfinder still has a plastic cutout in the dash underneath the steering wheel for the Japanese-style pull n' turn parking brake that I've seen on a few Tacomas. In the interest of making a new, roomier, cupholder-equipped center console for my 1995 2WD manual Pathy, is there any way I can find the parts to move the emergency brake handle to this location? Has anybody else done this? Or, if not here, then maybe the floor, like most trucks?

That's the cutout for the e-brake on a hardbody pickup. If you get all the parts from a HB, you might be able to make it work, but I don't know all the intricacies of such a project by any means. I doubt it'd be cheap and simple, if that's what you're asking.
