fred01
I see a lot of posts for spring lifts, but has anyone done a 2" body lift for the '01 style? I didn't find anything in the search. It seems like this would be an easier way to get tire clearance and keep a soft ride. Which brings up another question...how much rougher is the ride with an AC or OME spring lift? My jeep was a LOT stiffer when I put new springs on it and I'm not sure I want to sacrifice my ride comfort just for a few inches.
Pezzy
'fraid not seeing as the R-50's are a unibody - we can't do a body lift... I just got the AC 2" lift, and yes it is a stiffer ride, but after a week of driving with it - I barely notice. It's a truck, not a cadillac. fred01
Thanks Pezzy. Shows how much I've researched this. I never thought to look for frame rails underneath, kind of assumed it had a frame.
usmc01pathy
I am not sure what Shocks/struts Miss Pezzy has on her R50 but I put bilsteins on the rear and KYB struts on and the ride quality actually improved. Granted part of it might have been the original equipment that was still on there after 160,000 miles...And after the lift, I fit 265/75 r16 Firestone Destination M/Ts with minor trimming. Simon
Pezzy's got the same setup on hers. Bilsteins and KYB's.
