tthomasd614
Hey all! I’m doing the infamous timing belt/water pump replacement and have almost dissected all the way down. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to loosen the tension on the belt that is connected to the harmonic balancer. I have a picture of it. Can anyone help? ferrariowner123
go under the car, sit yourself in front of the drivers side wheel, look toward the lower drivers side of the pump (behind the pulley) you'll find an obscure and very hard to reach tension bolt. If you have ratcheting wrenches, (10 mm if memory serves me right) i suggest using them as the tensioner is a bitch. Also be careful taking off the harmonic balancer, i've broken about 2 harmonic balancer puller bolts trying to take that stupid thing off, went and rented the biggest 3 jaw puller o'reilly's had and that did the trick.
