Hi guys my 99 Pathy on start up will sometimes rev up to and over 2000rpm, if I shift into D the rpm does not drop and a load BANG occurs from the tranny through to the diff, so now I have to wait until it's at normal temp or I have to tap the throttle quite a few times to get the rpm to drop to a min of 1500rpm for safe gear change, this will also so happens on short trips 5mins or so to the shops. I think it may an idol sensor but need some more info on what part, location in the motor.

Cheers

Jase

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the TI designation, being on the other side of the world and all. What engine/transmission set up does it have?

The first thing I would do is check the throttle linkage and throttle plate to make sure nothing is binding, and that it is closing properly/all the way.
