2001 Pathfinder

Just purchased my 2001 4 weeks ago and discovered a broken coil spring on driver side. So I called Nissan dealer and was informed of a strut tower recall. The pathfinder only has 135,000 miles. Could the coil spring break and recall have anything in common? Please help kind of nervous about recall! TY

The recall is for rust on the strut tower. So unless your coil failed due to an inane amount or rust. I'd say you have nothing to worry about.
