engine swap 96 R50

will the 2001 motor of a Nissan pathfinder be compatible with a 96 Nissan pathfinder? I ask this because my R50 is seriously under powered and I don't know what else to do. She has trouble climbing hills and she stalls alot when mildly four wheeling. Please help. I work at a pick and pull so I can get motors cheep so price is not the issue, Will the tranny bolt up right? Will the trany and four wheel drive be able to handle the extra power? Will it mount up right? Will I need the ECU? Please help me!

don't know why the 3.0 you've got has issues, the 3.5 may help but why don't you just fix the one you've got?

I don't know what is wrong with it or I would. I cant even climb a 45% grade hill cause it just wont go.

if you have the know how and ability to swap an engine than you should be able to figure out whats wrong with the one you have. It should be lots less work.

ive done everything i can think of to fix it but nothing has worked yet i was just wondering how much work i would have top do to make a swap work. is there any legit program upgrades i could use to get more out of her?

Likely your cats are clogged. At least on one bank.

VQ trannies are beefed up, as are the transfer cases. I think you'd be better off just fixing and upgrading what you have. There's a few options to increase the power of VGs.
