O2 Sensor Replacement

I have had my Check Engine Light on and off for a while and I always knew it was the O2 sensor. But now, it is ALWAYS on and my gas mileage dropped to 14mpg. I used to get 20mpg. I decided to replace it so I ordered a BOSCH OEM from Auto Zone for about $100 and I was told that it is VERY difficult to replace without any special tools. The one that showed up bad is Bank 1 Sensor 1 which is Pass Side after the Cat so access should be reasonable.

 

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

 

By the way the OBD also showed a bad Knock Sensor on the same side, but that one is $170, so I am going to try some 93 octane first.... any ideas on that? Is is tough to replace?

actually i believe BANK 1 SENSOR 2 (code p0136) is the passenger side right after the cat (mines out too).. according to my service manuel (unless im reading it wrong) it looks easy to replace it looks like you just screw in the new one and fish the wire up to the engine bay and plug it in
