Guest brianwilliams
When I turn right on my 97 Infiniti QX4 there is a bizarre crunchy/clunky sound in the front of the car. It does not happen every time I turn, but usually just in sharper turns and at lower speeds. You can also feel a thud in the floor when this happens. I'm not sure if it's relavant, but I just had the CV boots replaced. Anybody have any ideas what this could be? Thanks in advance, Brian Williams
Trialsin26
Strut? Strut Mount? CV is more of a clicking sound.
96pfinderSE
I got the same problem on my path. Mine does it when i turn the wheel to the left and like thuds in the right side. Does yours do it more than once?
02silverpathy
If you drive in a straight line and make the truck sway back and forth (like the indy car drivers trying to keep their tires warm) does it make that sound everytime? I had this issue and its sounds big but is small....it was the little endlink that connects the sway bar to more suspension components....i replaced both of them for good measure. You can check them by giving them a flexing and if they move they will pop and you will them know which one is bad.
Guest brianwilliams
Yes, it does do it multiple times as I'm turning. I pushed down on the left and right sides and I couldn't get it to make the noise. It does do it when I weave back and forth, but only when I'm going right. Thanks for the input eveyone. lbinh
Just a thought.....Are your tires/rims OEM size? It may be a tire clearance issue at full lock. Visually inspect tire clearence under those conditions. Press down on corner of car at full lock to see if it rubs against wheel well trim. Good luck

Guest brianwilliams
Well it turns out it was a broken sway bar. Not too expensive fortunately.
