Silicon or rubber oil pan seal

So I am rebuilding my 93 pathy... I ordered a kit from mizumo auto and it came with everything for the TBI and MPI motors. My question is my 93 oil pan originally uses a rubber horseshoe things at each end and silicon gasket everywhere else, the kit has these rubber horseshoes but the rear one is too big. The kit also comes with a rubber seal that goes all the way around the pan... I'm contemplating cutting the horseshoe off of the seal to use but would just rather use the whole thing... Are there any real reasons not to?
