yeah test it that way and the brake booster was only 40 bucks just got a used one of ebay sent to the house just take the pin outta the brake pedal remove the four bolts on the boster the two on the master cylinder move the lines outta the way and take off the vaccum hose and your done. Now on mine i had to take bolt cutters to the top bolts to help wiggle them out.
