JIME
I tried a search didnt get specific answer. On my 2005 Pathfinder with 4 wheel disc the e-brake seems to be slipping when engaged. I think it just needs adjusting. Problem is I havent done this before. Does anyone have any advice they can provide? Where exactly is the adjustment nut and so forth. I haven't gotten a chance to get under to take a look as it has been raining for a week. Thanks
Tungsten
If Nissan has not changed the design, there is an adjustment point below the vehicle where you can twist the jamnuts around and tighten up the cable. If not, there are star nuts behind dust caps on the rear drums that you can turn.
JIME
Thanks. Hopefully, its tightened by the jamnut because I have 4 disc rotors. Any recommendation on replacement rotors? Should it be best just to stick with the Nissan rotors?
Towncivilian
Page PB-3 of the factory service manual has adjustment steps. Rotors are nearly all made in China nowadays. I'd just get the cheapest, heaviest rotors you can find really. They all rust anyways. Don't cheap out on pads. OEM or high-quality aftermarket brands are great. R51s have drum-in-hat parking brakes; the hydraulic brakes are disc brakes. Edited July 13, 2012 by Towncivilian
