Missing and Bogging

hello,

 

my truck just started running like crap, it's missing pretty bad and bogging when I accelerate. I put in new platinum Bosch plugs and replaced my rotting AIV assemblies and the problem went away for about 20 minutes. I just checked the spark and it is inconsistent and actually stops at times.

 

What would cause this? Ignition control module? Ignition coil maybe? The cap and rotor looks good.

 

Any info. would be appreciated, thanks!

Hmmm, did you mess with anything else?

 

The coil's power transistor might do that to you. Hopefully that's not it, they're like $98 new...

no, i haven't messed with anything else.

 

i can't see how this could have anything to do with it, but I did an oil and filter change the day before this started. strange

 

edit: I also checked the wires, they seemed fine, no excessive resistance

 

Where would I find the coil's power transistor? or the ignition control module? :confused:

well, after further inspection, it turned out to be two worn plug wires, the spark was jumping. So I put on some new plug wires and cleaned the EGR valve and its running excellent again.
