Bose Stereo Swap out

If you have a bose stero like this

Can you swap it out with the newer bose stereo like this?

 

What i mean is would it be as simple as just plugging in the newer bose dash? Or would it not match up in the back?

I think it depends on what the newer one came out of (or was made to go in) If it's still from a pathy one might referance part numbers for the harness, if they are the same you should be good to go.

I hate those stereos. BOSE is the worst audio equipment manufacturer. You are better off just getting an adepter and getting a real deck instead of that garbage.

Haha that being said, the adaptor to wire in an aftermarket head unit needs to plug into the harness where the old head unit used to, and they state a range of like 95-05 Nissans so it seems the plugs are mostly the same.

I had the newer dash in my 2002 before and I have never had any issues with it. But yes, I have heard it sucks. There's a wrecked 2003 with that stereo and if I can get the newer dash for cheap, it would be fine with me. Ideally I want to replace it with a full screen deck but that will be a more expensive option which im not sure is the right way right now.

What's wrong with your existing deck? Just keep that and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Not a fan of that deck is all. Also the CD player is not working.

I think all R50 players should be interchangeable. I doubt you can put a navigation one in a non-navigation model though.
