madhatter_xe
Hello, Something is draining my battery and I cannot figure out what it is!! When I set my Ammeter to the 10A range I get a reading of about .29. This doesn't seem like much draw but apparently is enough to drain my battery after a couple days sitting. So far I have: -Put in new alternator -Brand new battery -Checked all the fuses -Disconnected the CD player -Checked if alternator is charging and also disconected it to see if it is drawing on the battery Nothing worked. The only thing that stopped the draw was to disconnect the fusible link, but then that stops everything Does anyone know what this might be or know of something else I should check? Thanks for any info.
jj big shoe
I'd start by pulling fuses under the dash until you find the drain, then check that circuit's wiring. My buddy's '95 Pathy had electrical troubles w/ the stock fog lights and aftermarket trailer wiring grounding out but those popped fuses. Another friend's Camaro had a pinched power lead after a stereo install that drained his battery but never popped a fuse. Maybe one day they will make tianium wiring with kevlar insulation. Good luck.

Reido
On a related note: where can those fuseable links be found. Two of mine have been replaced with standard wire and I guess that would be something to fix someday. I guess since I'm posting in your thread I should try to help out. Maybe since the fused circuts don't seem to be the culprit the starter may be sapping some amps somehow? And there are also a couple of circuts that are not fused in the fuse block by the drivers knee. I think they are on the pass. side fender. Might as well give those a try too. 88pathoffroad
Also check your glove box light. Make sure it turns off when you shut the door...
madhatter_xe
Thanks for the info. It turns out it was the fuse for my Command Start. I pulled it a while back b/c I thought it was the problem. For some strange reason the hidden fuse was still drawing power?!? But that's taken care of! no more disconnecting my battery every time I get in/out!
