Quick question on Diff. Fluids

Hi,

I just would like to clarify the fluids for the front/rear differentials: According to a link in this site:

Differential oil:

Open differential - APL GL-5 SAE 80W90

LSDs differential - Use only LSD gear oil APL GL-5 SAE 80W90 approved for Nissan LSDs

Transfer case oil - APL GL-4 80W90

- Am I correct to say that both front/read differentials are the same fluid? I can use APL GL-5 SAE 80W90 and be safe?

thanks everyone.. just gathering my notes for my next weekend project!

Yes, you can use 80W-90 GL-5 for both differentials. You can use synthetic 75W-90 too. Don't use anything except GL-4 only (no "GL-4 and GL-5" compatible fluid; that is referring to compatibility in differentials, not manual transmissions) for the transmission and transfer case.
