i was checking the ohms on the fuel injectors and my multimeter jus starts going crazy and not giving me a good reading. i tested everything else and it gave good readings. so i was wondering is my injectors bad and is that why my meter is not giving a good reading? or am i doing it wrong? oh and yes i followed the service manual.

was it steady or moving all around?

You either weren't getting a good consistent contact on them (possibly due to lead wires or plugs) or there is an issue with your multimeter. I had one where the selector ring cracked so it worked properly intermittently and went wild other times. I replaced it and have no issues now.

 

I have checked the injectors also and got good readings without any real issue. I eventually did find a bad one and the multimeter read accordingly. 10-14 ohms or something like that is the proper range, I can't remember exactly. I had an intermittent failing injector, it only happened when it was hot, sat and restarted so if you may want to take both a hot and cold reading, it does make a difference...

so i should check it when engine is cold? or it doesn't matter?

I don't recall if the FSM specified but cold is easier and hot is the 'operating temp' although I have to assume the fuel and spraying it keeps them cooler which must be why mine only acted up after it sat hot and was restarted. In other words, I dont know. :shrug:

 

Check both ways. :D
