Hey everyone, I'm new here. Just helped my brother-in-law buy an '88 2 dr Pathfinder with 135K miles on it (it looks pretty pristine.) Just had the timing belt changed (today) and the water pump replaced (today). Going to get the 135k tune up Friday or Saturday (depending on family schedules.)

 

Read the FAQ and searched for other stuff. Basically just trying to set him up with a reliable vehicle (know the "bulletproofness" of them) and am looking for anything else to look for as far as "known issues" etc. Did all the normal used car purchase (was never in a wreck, etc.) so now I am just trying to make sure everything is up to spec.

 

Any suggestions on things to look into would be appreciated. Apologies if this has been covered (would appreciate a link to the previous topic if this is the case) I just couldn't find them and this seems to be the best Pathfinder site.

PS. Trying to get him a factory service manual for Christmas.
