I've been thinking about putting in a tranny cooler befor mine breaks down .I've had no problems with the stock one but I don't know when the last time the fluid was done befor now and am kinda worried I habe seen yoo much lately about coolers going bad .will this hurt my pathy if i change it. :)

It should be fine. Just bypass the stock cooler completely and use an aftermarket cooler instead. That's the trick.
