Play in steering

Hi all,

I've got another question about my 01 Pathfinder (SE, 51K miles, automatic). When I go over a bump or make a turn on a steep incline like in the parking garage, I feel some play in the steering wheel in the up/down direction. As this is happening, I sometimes hear/feel a bumping noise coming from the steering. I know that on bumps and inclines the suspension is being stretched as is the steering system. Is this normal? Are there lube points on the steering system that will help minimize this play? Thanks again.

Matt

Do you still have warranty left? It sounds like either balljoints or something is fuddled up with the steering input shaft. I'd take it into the dealer and let them service it as long as it's free

I have the same problem that I have spent $500+ to get nothing fixed. I say leave it alone, maybe lube if three are any good spots. I have had everything looked at on my 01...everything...

Not one thing.
